Steve Jones 2
My first fan unit was tack glued in with hot glue as Tony suggested but it broke free on first flight . Clearly I did not do it right. Since then on all model I rough the outer of the fan and fully epoxy in all the way round no issues since then but if I wanted to change it would be interesting !! Martyn K
Thanks Steve I couldn't see how it could be wedged. I thought I may be missing a bit. I'll get the glue out later. Probably just glue the sides
Steve Jones 2
Martyn, Just a care point to make sure the fan shroud is not a 'tight' fit in the ply former. It should be a sliding fit so it does not distort the fan shroud - if it does it could lead to premature fan failure.. Steve
Martyn K
Thanks Steve. I spotted that and initial distorted it as well. However, I checked the fan spun OK and it was binding slightly. Pulling the former apart a little seemed to solve it Its easily done and thanks for the warning Martyn Edited By Martyn K on 16/11/2020 16:37:
