I can bribe the guards £1.50 and they let me in but it also costs £1.50 the other way.? That's because you live in Lincolnshire. Anywhere else it would be double. Except Lancashire (we've found a use for Trump's derelict fence).
kevin b
So I am still sanding. Sanding and filling. Filling and sanding. Nearly there though !

kevin b
Now ready to go to its new owner. Still not sure about the next scale model, but the Joker 25 will keep me busy for a few days on the 2021 mass build thread.

kevin b
Time for another one. This is one of the smaller models and is a Kawasaki Hein. Wingspan 1390mm. It looks like a fairly complex build and I shall be making this for electric power (just to complicate things more !). The parts are cut and the building board is cleared. As with the others, this is a proof of concept build so I don't need to fly it. If anybody is interested in finishing it off, let me know. kevin b
First job, the fuselage doublers and the motor mount. Then next morning on with assembly.
Paul De Tourtoulon
Dare i say it, someone has left an electric moto on the bench, bin it and get a proper smokey, oily noisy methanol engine for it,,,?

I prefer IC but an electric motor is better in a sleek front end. 1

Sorry grandad, but a small warbird with a cylinder head sticking out of the side and a big exhaust underneath throwing out single cylinder bangs as it goes past is a bit like a modern superyacht with paddle wheels and a steam whistle. ? Now if it were a large scale radial scale model with a Moki up front, it would be a different matter.

kevin b
I thought this one was going to be difficult, but it turning out to be a nice build ! The fuselage is almost self jigging, though I don't think it will be a lightweight model with all the plywood (not lite ply). The next part will be the wing centre section, so that I can align the dowels before completing the fuselage.

kevin b
I think Paul's comments were tongue-in-cheek, so we can let him off this time. I'm used to making allowance for such ribaldry from other people. After all, they can't help the fact that they weren't born in Yorkshire. ? kevin b
Back to the plot. As I was saying, the wing centre section needed building in order to align the dowels before fitting the fuselage front lower sheeting. It seemed a good time to have a look at the tail end as well. kevin b
Wing centre section assembled and a bit more work on the fuselage.
kevin b
Wing dowel holes drilled, Front lower nose block fitted and more sheeting.
kevin b
Had a bit of a break to try and get some flying in. The weather hasn't been helpful though. A bit more work on the fuselage and the wings started. At this size it really does need operating retracts.

perttime
Using a plane gives you less of a mess, whether shaping wood or foam.
