David Holland 2
Evening Gents, for a while I have had a hankering for a vintage type model for those balmy summer evenings that fill our future(!!) and am struggling to find anything that is in stock. RapidRc list the Value Planes Balsa Cloud Clipper 71 which looks the business and is available to buy. Ticks all the boxes but I've never heard of the company or the model. Anybody have any thoughts? william forster
I have bought one of these I will be starting the build soon. It appears to be a well thought out kit with an option for i/c or electric. Usual laser cut parts and a forest of balsa strip. I will post some photos when there is something on the board. Bill. Stephen Belshaw
Anyone made any progress with one of these? I'm thinking of having a go at the HobbyKing version.

Tim Thanks Tim, I had already come across that, sadly not a lot of useful information in it. I was hoping to hear from someone who had built one, with a view on the quality of the kit, ease of build etc. Looks like I may be the guinea pig! william forster
Hi Steven. I built the Cloud Clipper earlier this year. It was a very easy to build kit for anyone with some experience of balsa bashing! All the materials where of good quality and sufficient quantity. I chose the electric version, I added a doubler to the firewall to get the motor further forward but it still needed lead in the nose to get the C of G correct. I also used a 2200 4s lipo stood vertically behind the firewall. I bought mine from Kings Lynn model shop but I see Century UK have them listed. Hope this helps, Bill
David Holland 2
I, too, built one last winter. Nice build, good quality and complete. On a calm day will waft around for ages on a 2200 3S. Nice model. David
