Jeffrey Cottrell 2
Hi Guys Just ordered a Pheonix Models Carrera from the Stan Yeo stables. Would welcome any hints and tips from anyone who has built one. Couple of areas might need thinking about. Just finished a Pzazz E from the same stable. I read a post on the old site that the wing centre join was a weak point, so I added a couple of layers of thin glasscloth. The Carrera c/s looks very similar, so should I consider doing the same? Also, first time with an AMT. Getting this right or wrong will decide how the whole model flies, so again any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks Jeff
Wookman
Build it to the drawing and instructions. Stan's stuff is thought through and he builds and extensively tests them all.
Wookman
How are you progressing with the Carrera?
Jeffrey Cottrell 2
Hi Wookman Have to confess it's still in the box. I my defence I already have three other projects on the go, and having recently moved into a mobile home, there isn't really enough room for everything. One thing I have done is to join the wing skins. This is the third of Stan's designs I have built, and I always seem to have an issue with joining the skins without a visible glue line. Tried something different this time, and seems to have worked out much better. So, I will have a head start when I finally get around to it. Cheers Jeff
Wookman
Good luck with the build when you get round to it. I flew the original foam wing Carrera for many years. It is a superb aeroplane.
