Does anyone remember the name of a pattern-ship Phil Kraft designed that had a fuselage made from a solid balsa log or a number of them temporarily glued together caved then split and hollowed out for the gear etc. It was published in RCM&E or RM back in the 70s. Andy Stephenson Posted March 22, 2021 Author Share Posted March 22, 2021 Thanks John, That's the one I was thinking of, the Fire-fli. I wonder if anyone ever made one of these. It did however inspire me to design my own model at that time using 3 pieces of 1"x3"x36" balsa which I stuck together, turned on a lathe then separated and hollowed out. It had a Veco19 and a symmetrical wing of about 48" span, it flew amazingly well considering I didn't really know what I was doing back then.
