How do you store your balsa?

Recommended Posts

Finished the top decks of my under bench balsa rack this afternoon. The basic construction is a ply box, with a couple of shelves and internal dividers. This upper stage provides 9 pigeon holes which are set up for 4" wide balsa. 36" lengths are completely swallowed up, but 48" lengths stick out a wee bit at both ends. The dividers are offset, per layer, to allow for screwing the assembly together.

All the individual sheets are weighed and have their weight and calculated density written on them - I like the idea of colour coding the end grain with a felt pen that I saw online and might borrow that. I plan on adding a second deck to the lower stage, which will let me spread the balsa out a bit more. The pigeon holes will take about 30 sheets of 3/32" balsa, so those more popular sizes are pretty full at the moment.
