Tim Kearsley
Due entirely to pilot error, my 3.7m Super Ava Pro sailplane had an argument with a small fence post on landing. This has resulted in a small dent in the leading edge of the centre wing section, between two ribs (see photo). I believe this is a carbon/Kevlar weave. Any idea how to go about repairing it? Thank you.
Wookman
Pull it back into shape with a pin or sharp scalpel then soak the area in runny superglue. Don't put too much on as will go everywhere. Put a bit on and let it dry then put a bit more on and let that dry. Carry on like this until you have enough thickness to gently sand back to shape and polish up. Tim Kearsley
Thanks Wookman, I'd pretty much come to the same conclusion. Thankfully, there appears no damage at all to any ribs, just the "dent" in the carbon/Kevlar skin.
Ron Gray
I’ve done the same thing on my DLG, the LE has had a couple of dings, all because of me misjudging ‘return to hand’ once when it hit my shin (ouch) and recently when it hit the TX (broke a switch lever). Tim Kearsley
Sounds painful Ron! It's a testament to the strength of the Super Ava wing that the post that it hit, which admittedly was only well "weathered" 2 x 2, broke off at the base! FilmBuff
My Pulsar had a serious arrival that broke the D box and the spar. I found this Vladimir Model repair kit from Hyperflight invaluable. https://www.hyperflight.co.uk/products.asp?code=VM-COMP-REPAIR-KIT&name=vm-composite-model-repair-kit Best £37 I have ever spent. Enabled a £900 glider to get flying again.

The repair is at least as strong, probably stronger, than the original and its barely noticeable. The repair kit was well worth the money.
