Turnigy PLUSH ESCs updated (twice)

Recommended Posts

One of my favourite low cost ESCs has always been the Turnigy PLUSH.

The main reason I like them is because all ESC's within the range from the tiny 6A version up to the massive 150A version use generously rated SBECs rather than Linear BECs as found on some budget ESC's. They are easy to set up and have always performed faultlessly. The SBEC (Switching Battery Eliminator Circuit) stays much cooler than a Linear BEC, especially at higher input voltages.

I haven't bought any for a while, which is testament to how good they are, as I've been able to re-use ones taken from models I've erm "finished with". I've just discovered that the original range of PLUSH ESCs were replaced by the PLUSH-32 ESCs some time ago. The main difference looks to be that the "PLUSH-32" uses an ARM 32 Bit controller, which should give better performance than the original. My next discovery is that these new PLUSH-32 have now had a firmware update (to Rev 1.1.0) to give even better features, when combined with a new programming card. One of these features is a handy Model Finder mode (beeps when no change of input for a programmable time).

Here's a list of programmable features - not bad for a budget ESC.

Here's my question:

Has anyone used any PLUSH-32 ESC's?

How about PLUSH-32 ESC's with Rev 1.1.0 firmware?

Are they still as reliable and cool running as they used to be?

Here's a link to the first generation PLUSH-32 80A.

Here's a link to the newer PLUSH-32 80A (Rev 1.1.0).

Here's the PROGRAMMING CARD.

I bought one a couple of mpnths ago from HK, to upgrade the original one on one of my 450 sized helocopters, but the programming card was on back order and still is!!) so all I was able to programme without the card was the throttle range.  So far (in a very limited number of flights) it has been reliable and seems to run pretty cool, but I would love to be able to set up the slow start functions etc.

Card is in stock from EU as per the above link.
