John Rudd
I recently changed the gear sets to metal types on my Emax servos. I find the original horn fixing screw doesn’t fit. Does anyone know what the thread size is on the brass shaft?
Denis Watkins
You may not like this John, as it is a faff. I could not match the thread so I drilled out and tapped 3.5mm and use a short socket cap head. I only had to do 2 servos, so not a big job. Choose whichever short shaft bolts you have, and tap to that
Mike T
2 hours ago, Denis Watkins said: I could not match the thread... Do you mean that you just didn't have the right size available, or that it didn't match any known standard? On a small servo, it may well be something like 2.6mm (which OS use for a lot of their ancillaries like carb and rocker cover fixings). Modelfixings have them in stock. John Rudd
Gents, thnx for the replies. the tapped hole is less than 2.00mm, so its not an M2 thread.... Retapping is an option that I'll keep in mind.
Denis Watkins
Apologies, I tapped 3mm 3.5mm was a recent tap, stuck in my head, from an alloy motor mount fix
John Lee
The output arm illustration on Banggood shows a hole diameter of 1.7mm. M1.6 looks like a good candidate, link: Modelfixings
John Rudd
Yes, I had thought that it might be M1.6 but had not got round to measuring or gauging the hole size.... So I think buying some M1.6 screws is in order.... Many thanks...
