Gary Murphy 1
Hello, i am looking at trying to learn how to design OR transfer drawings to be cut or printed etc. I have seen guys use a mouse or pen/stylus etc and i think i would be better with a tablet +pen. Ihave seen Wacom and intuos mentioned which can be very expensive. i have seen a tablet advertised local of good size BUT i have no idea if it can be used for cad/design,it just says drawing. its made by gaomon and the mk10 pro model, as more buttons than the wacom i have seen, can i use this? Martin Gay
Gary, What you buy is likely to be determined by the software that you want to use. My Vectric Aspire is a windows based piece of software. I don't think it would work on an Android or Chromebook platform - not that I have tried it on them to be honest.
Gary Murphy 1
i thought any usb tablet could be used on any platform if the software was available. I am not sure if tablet + pen units can all be used for design? are some just you for art? i thought that a tablet and pen from any brand could be used with windows paint etc.
Martin Gay
I have no idea. Hopefully someone that uses such a system will becable to educate us all!
Martin Gay
I've just had a look on the Vectric website. You are correct, a graphics tablet/pen will work with my software. My initial comments were incorrectly about the operating system. My apologies.
James Green2
Just my experience from using cad systems at work, Catia, Solidworks, Acad, we have always used a mouse. Same for my real speciality area in aircraft structures, always used a mouse with Patran and Ansys. But each to their own.
