Edgeflyer
Does anyone remember / have experience of the vintage Dogan moulded sailplane, made I think by Vojtech Valenta of Czech origin. I acquired one several years ago and fancy flying it after a full refurb. Ive refixed the front hull plate where the servos etc go and done some cosmetic stuff as the model was in good condition. the problem is the rudder was not fixed and has no sign of hinges. there must have been a rudder post of balsa in the fin. I have downloaded some construction diagrams and the hing system for the rudder is not clear nor is its control horn fixing, which apears to be internal somehow. can anyone please throw some light? Gary Binnie
Just had a look at my Valenta Ray X in case they are similar, the rudder is live hinged on the left side and there is a very obvious external horn and clevis. My other gliders (Xplorer/Tragi Cluster) are live hinged but my Pike Superior has a tape rudder hinge on one side.
Steve Houghton 1
I haven't seen a Dogan in ages. One of my flying buddies used to have one. I can't help you I'm afraid, you may have to come up with your own solution.
