Bill Wood
I have recently received my October 2021 issue of the magazine. The quality of the pictures and photos just seems to get better. One thing is puzzling me regarding the article on the superb scale model of the Fairy Flycatcher: It mentions that, quote " She had flaps that run full span on the leading edges of both her wings" unquote. Now I have done some serious looking at the photos but I fail to see these flaps. Everything has been included in this magnificent model, so why can't I see leading edge flaps and I keep coming back for a second look? I'll not sleep tonight unless I can find out what I'm not seeing. Somebody please help!
Gary Manuel
Could it be a simple typo Bill? Should it read trailing edge? The full sized version had 4 flaperons. Sleep tight. ?️
John Lee
That's what I think also Gary. My understanding is that the full length ailerons could be drooped by 8 degrees to act as flaps. Sleep well Bill! john stones 1 - Moderator
4 function, if there's flaps, it's via flaperons.

Bill Wood
Thanks Guys. I will sleep tonight. Wikipedia has it right - it should be trailing edge flaps hence your reference to flaperons. Phew!
