Den Moran
Hi,everyone! The winter season upon us, and thoughts turn to i/c. I want to install a .65 ASP FS in my Astro Hogg, and I noticed a nipple on the underside forrard and pointing downwards at 5 o'clock angle. What is this for? I can't see any info on YT clips, although one does have some fuel tube connected (can't see the other end!). Diolch yn fawr, Den, Abertawe. dave parnham
sounds like a drain for excess oil
J D 8
Yes it will be the crankcase vent/drain needed on a 4 stroke and often fitted in the backplate on other makes of engine. The free end is just vented to atmosphere. Pob hwyl, John.

Graeme White
Would this port be good for adding oil if the engine is going to sit for a length of time? I have an engine in a cowl I don't want to keep taking on/off and want to make sure it's all juicy inside and for the rockers. Is air tool oil still recommended? Nigel R
You can usually inject via that nipple although it's direct to crankcase. Air tool oil is quite innocuous I believe. If you get the thing good and hot and run it dry of fuel, there should be (almost) nothing but oil inside it anyway.
