Tosh McCaber
Our club has started winter indoor meetings in a (rather small ) gym hall. Can anyone recommend a small Depron, (or otherwise) aerobatic model for a small space, (rather than the lightweight jobs that just go round and round)? Either home built, kit or complete. Any suggestions welcome! Thx
David P Williams
I’m in the same position, so also interested in suggestions
RedBaron
One of the most enjoyable indoor aerobatical that I have had is the: RC FACTORY INFERNO SUPERLITE not particularly small but works very well in small halls.

Don Fry
Simples, Rcm&E free plan. Fully aerobatic, runs on a 1s 180mAh battery, about 30G AUW. I fly in a single basketball court Edited November 8, 2021 by Don Fry
Tosh McCaber
That looks good RB- can you please give us an idea of equipment on board- Rx, ESC, battery capacity and size, servos?
Tosh McCaber
Same question to you, Don? Which RCM&E? Edited November 8, 2021 by Tosh McCaber
Don Fry
April 2018. I use 3 1.7 g servos, and a HK micro receiver, DSMX, about a gram fo 5 channels, downside, no plugs, need a good small soldering iron.
GrumpyGnome
If you can get one, the Eflite umx Extra flies well....
RedBaron
If I can post a .pdf here you will see the details of my inferno from my OneNote notebook for this model. No doubt more economic choices could have been made but it is a very good aerobat with this setup 43-Inferno General Data.pdf
Tosh McCaber
Thx for the info, guys. One of the (my) problems is that, post covid, I'm finding it difficult to lay my hands on a small RX. Any suggestions? RedBaron
What Tx do you have Spektrum, Futaba other?
Don Fry
I use an Orange DSMX, half a gram, 6 channels, HobbyKing, SKU 9171001321-0. Very small. In stock. I think they do other formats, but I use Spektrum stuff.
RedBaron
If Spektrum Orange615X 6ch - remove the case and the Rx might blow away in a light wind. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131125220152
Don Fry
8 minutes ago, RedBaron said: If Spektrum Orange615X 6ch - remove the case and the Rx might blow away in a light wind. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131125220152 No, this unit is 9mm square, solder wires to it, no plugs. The entire radio system, 3 servos, receiver, speed controller is 7 grams from memory. Fiddly soldering.
RedBaron
Hmm sorry if I got that wrong? Have just checked my records and I have 4 x R615X in use some with cover, some without. I just plugged them in and bound to my Spektrum Tx. I am sure I would have remembered soldering. I tend to avoid soldering close to electronics as heat management is not a well controlled process. Tosh McCaber
Thx again, guys. Just back in. I run a Spektrum DX9 Tx, so the above advice is useful!
Don Fry
Tosh, buy a proper soldering station. And a mounted magnifying glass. The soldering is not difficult, but it is precise, small amounts of solder. Mind once done it’s done it’s done. The photos are a new airframe and motor, replacing the battered to death predecessor. Old will be shifted to the new in one piece, Rx, servos, speed controller, one unit.
Stephen Jones
Only just spotted this topic, But for next year why not build a Mini Bat, These fly great in a small Hall. This one I added a extra strip of foam on the underside of the wing to give some inverted flight ability. No carbon or Glass tape needed to add strength just the foam sheet glued together. Although on the wing doubles, I just used double sided tape, So much quicker and sticks instantly. Steve
Stuart Quinn-Harvie 1
This is great Steve - I just went to my first indoor session last week and seem to have caught the bug a bit so I'll be putting one of these together - thanks!
