Low pass Pete
20 minutes ago, Peter Miller said: OUCH!!!. What I do is buy some 3M spray mount. Cut out the ribs from the plan spray them and stick them down on the wood and cut round them. It takes an hour or so but that is how I do all the parts of the model except the fuselage sides which are done with carbon paper under the plan. When I look at the cost of pre cut parts I am staggered. I do understand the cost from SLEC as they have to convert each separate rib to a CNC cutting file which takes time. and that is going to be a one off. Ouch indeed Peter. What I will do is to copy the plan on my printer/copier and do as you suggest. Like the idea of the 3M spray mount.
Peter Miller
When you have strayed the paper leave it to go tacky. If you put it on while too wet it is a swine to get it off the wood. Not that it matters realy, it is just neater.
Outrunner
I used to use spray mount but I now find Pritstick much cheaper and less messy to use.
Peter Miller
Yes. Spray Mount has just got much more expensive. A club member has also just said that he used Pritt stick.. I must try that.
kc
I use small pieces of double sided Sellotape to stick copies of the plan to balsa or ply for formers etc. Works well.
