A way forward to paying tax on personal imports.

I bought some fancy redundancy switches from HK (Hong Kong).  Under the limit for import duty, liable for VAT equivalent.

I got an e mail from La Poste (equivalent of Royal Mail), asking if I wanted to pay the TVA (VAT) online, and pointing out, cheaper service than paying the postie.

So I did, 8 euro tax, plus 2 euro admin fee. That’s about £1.80 in stirling for admin.

I got a email receipt to show the postie, with a code and barcode. She read this into her phone, package handed over.

New system, seems to work.

It’s only a computer package, no reason why it does not work anywhere, change language as needed. Perhaps it might come to the UK.
