Looking to try my hand at a more scale kit to build.

Seen a Top flite 63" inch spitfire gold editon kit for sale local.

Its as new condition. Can not find the kit for sale any where to get a idea of the cost. I can also not find much about the quality or difference in normal kit compared to "Gold" any info would be great.Forgot to mention if anyone can comment on if its easy to convert to elec or best kept IC,Thanks

They are quite nice kits but TF tend to supply old floorboards rather than balsa for sheeting the model so you will probably need to replace most of it if you want it to end up a decent weight. You want it under 10lbs if at all possible. Cant comment on electric conversion potential but an 80 is enough if you go 4 stroke.

Good kits. Note what Jon says. American modelers do power, and with power, a brick will fly.

It’s nicer and easier, to fly a lighter aircraft.

Bear in mind, you stole that. A few tens of quid to sheet it with light wood will be rewarded. Then glass it in 25 gsm cloth, and it’s tough as old dogs.

The heavy wood, spare, buy a saw, will do strip wood for ever.
