Well I have made the anticipated progress in that this machine is now covered as per my previous post.

Pilot has moved forwards to help the CoG.

Very slightly outside my weight target but not by much.

She currently weighs 2200g or 4lbs 13.5oz without flight battery which I don't think is too bad for a 78" wingspan machine.

Hopefully maiden on Sunday!

Well she flew today and returned home with no damage so that is a plus.

Had a slight issue with servo horn alignments on the ailerons after covering and a reversed rudder which was all picked up on the pre flight.

Range check showed as OK.

First flight was kept short as a shake down and to allow me to stop shaking.

2nd flight was a bit better so explored the envelope a bit further.

Loops were dead straight, did not have enough power left on for the 1st stall turn so it flopped over itself.

2nd stall turn much better.

Then my heart attack moment, did a full deflection aileron roll - oh boy was it slow!

Landed and doubled the movement on the surface control horn.

Flew again, much more positive on the ailerons but I got a signal alarm which I have to check out on the telemetry.

Video for you to enjoy - thanks to Clive for being camera man - not easy.

I was fortunate to see Andy's model fly both yesterday and today - it's quite impressive in the air and certainly flew well.

The thing to take from this model is that it's a large and impressive model that flys on quite a small Lipo.   The way to go!   And as we can see through the build photos it's all just conventional light weight building.    Thanks Andy for showing us all the details step by step.   I am sure it will encourage others to build large and lightweight.    When the actual size of Lipo is revealed I think you will all be amazed.........
