Martin McIntosh
I had one very many years ago and it was a reliable motor despite being a finger biter. Does it idle? if not then someone may have turned the idle screw all the way in. Unscrew it about 2 1/2 turns then try again. They have a simple carb so there could well be a blockage of oil etc in the main jet.
Frank Skilbeck
Yep most likely some sort of blockage restricting the fuel flow.
Engine Doctor
As already said its likely to be a blockage somewhere in the fuel line or NV. A blow through with some fuel from a syringe may force the debris through if you are lucky. If not a proper Strip and clean out the NV and carb is the way to go . Let us know how you get on.
