Peter Jenkins
How many members are aware that there is a NOTAM that restricts flying on the 2nd June 2022 to allow the RAF to conduct the Platinum Jubilee Fly Past over Buckingham Palace? The details are available on the BMFA News site and by following this link. Most of the South East is covered and there are specific times for various areas (shown on a map that is attached to the article). As the restriction extends down to the surface no aircraft or model aircraft can be flown during the periods specified in the NOTAM. For those unfamiliar with a NOTAM this is short for Notice to Airmen. It is used to for a number of purposes and one of which is to place temporary restrictions on aircraft operations in specific areas. Failure to adhere to a NOTAM may result in the guilty party being prosecuted by the CAA.
Brian Cooper
Yup, am aware of it. The BMFA sent out a notification. The areas affected are fairly extensive. Fortunately for my clubs, we are not affected.
Ron Gray
We’re affected but it’s only for an hour and hopefully we may get to see some of the ‘big’ stuff.

Andy Stephenson
The BMFA website is offline right now and I get this when trying to access it, although the classifieds section is working.
Martin Harris - Moderator
AVG is flagging up the same infection. Has anyone alerted the BMFA or has Andy seen this?

Dave Bran
Care needed, times shown in CAA NATS document are in UTC, not BST. Why they didn't put "(UTC)" after each time period rather than somewhat burying it in a later footnote (No15) needs to be put to them considering how many people will not be familiar with that standard.
