Michael Hickman
Hi TimboDon't worry it was not a serious suggestion, and even then only on my PC not the server. I might try changing the order / colours that some sites are applied as some people have suggested points that overlap others (incl BMFA & Tonys of Leicester, also SLEC hiding behind another site with an identical post code).I think the map does already demonstrate the disparity of shops around the country, even accepting the incomplete nature of the map at this point in time.Mike

Erfolg
If you are interested in some missing shops, I could supply details of 3One in Northenden Manchester, a second in Edin burgh (Wonderland) and a third near to Aberdean?Do you want more? or are you satisfied with the map?Erfolg
Michael Hickman
Hi ErfolgIt started out as a personal resource, that I could use when I was out in an area I didn't know, so that I could find a local shop to browse.Later I thought it could be a way (as a new comer to RC, unable to answer deep problems) of helping the forum users and the wider Aero RC community (that sounds a bit heavy but you know what I mean).I would be pleased to include any additional shops that you think users on this forum would be interested in.Many thanksMike
Michael Hickman
Hi Rob (Crewe)Just heard back from developers, map has been corrected, I have downloaded latest to my drive, and tested, OK. I have uploaded to the server, it looks OK to me.Do you know of any RC points of interest on the IoW?Mike
Michael Hickman
Hi ChapsJust added another shop, I've also changed the icon displayed for three sites (to a larger red dot), as they all had another site either too close to easily seperate or actually at the same location. I know it seems to give additional emphasis but unsure what else I could do.What do you think?Mike
260 Flyer
Hi MikeThat looks better! The map just looked wrong without it. There used to be a toy shop in Newport that stocked a few kits, but I cannot remember what it was called, if it still exists.

Michael Hickman
Hi Rob,I must admit it looks better, but I hadn't spotted it's absence.I did a search on Yell and found this:Mad 4 Motorsport, Newport IoW, PO30 5AZ (01983 520011)http://www.mad4motorsport.co.ukI will add if you would like, the IoW does look even better with a dot. Erfolg
MichaelWhere is the Inverness model shop? The local telephone directory listed one, which gave an address near to the dock/harbour. I searched high and low along the sreet and neighbourhood, I could not find it !Erfolg
Erfolg
OhhhhThat is because I was looking in Aberdeen.A Homer moment I believe.Still I never found one in Inverness either. Certainly nowhere to fly, due to the airport and the approach path of aircraft.Erfolg

Michael Hickman
Hi ChapsSlightly off topic, I was wondering what people thought to a similar map, but of Model clubs?I have a short list of clubs around Leicestershire, that I found on the BMFA web site, but no post codes. I know the location of my local club (Market Harborough MAC) but wondered if the locations were not shown for a reason?I have started another html page plus associated data file (with only MHMAC & BMFA HQ), but only on my local PC. I would not want to be responsible for "advertising locations" if it was unwanted by the clubs.Mike

Michael Hickman
Hi DougNot sure about different models but on the one I have.Connect TomTom device to PCSwitch on TomTomAgree to TomTom connecting to PCBackup your TomTom to the PC just in case.Download ov2 file to PC (could copy direct, but I find safer to PC first).copy file to TomTom drive (in the map directory), I can't remember the exact directory name but if you have added any other POI that's where it should be.It should have a pair of files (the OV2 & a BMP for the logo) of the same name but different extension, I just created a small square logo (9x9 pixels) I just copied the file size of another POI pair, and it seems to work OK for me. I haven't added that file to the server yet, as it is pretty simple (I am no artist), but have just attached it above.NB Please ensure you disconnect the TomTom correctly through TomTom Home (guess how I found that one out)!Mike

flytilbroke
Hi Micheal, only add those you wish to. My thought is that any that may be usefull (nearly all) can only enhance your project. Inverness and Dingwall locations may help visitors in particular, as the Highlands are sparsely populated outside of Inverness
