Simon Chaddock
The FlyCamOne has a notoriously short battery life (< 2 mins) when its gets cold. This is a pity because you get some wonderful calm, sunny but frosty days that make for a nice video. The problem seems to be not just the temperature but the air blast that cools things down really quickly. As a test I have had nearly 10 mins video at -4C in still air, so the answer is to insulate it. Now Depron is a good insulator..... Here is a simple open ended box and the FlyCam is a snug push fit Fitted to my "Depron" Wing Dragon and neatly held down by the wing bands. Note all the FlyCam controls are accessible and I've even streamlined the camera lense! The mic is completely covered but thats not much of a loss as it only pics up the airflow noise. All I need now is a calm frosty day! The 3 view in the upper pic? A possible next Depron project.

Myron Beaumont
Sorry but wind chill factors only affect creatures not the ambient air flow temperature which is constant ie ambient

Simon Chaddock
Myron But I did not say wind chill - you did! What I said was ".....but the air blast that cools things down really quickly." - and when the moving air is colder than the target, it surely will.
