Thread: Cambrian ME109 Funfighter electric Prop Size
12/06/2020 13:54:44

Thanks for the reply's, Alan I have emailed Cambrian models and they replied saying that they used 3s with a 9x6 prop and that they know of others using 4s but did not know what size prop they used, so am still confused?

12/06/2020 11:15:46

I am in the process of building a Cambrian ME109 electric funfighter, I purchased this kit with the recommended motor and esc , a Overlander Thumper 1050kv with overlander XP2 40A Esc.

My question is what prop should I use with 3s lipo and also what should I use if I go for the 4s route? On the Cambrian website it recommends apce 9x6 with 3s lipo, is this what I should be purchasing and would this be suitable with the 4s lipo?

Thank You

Thread: Anyone with experience with ProBuild YS servicing?
20/05/2020 14:58:04

2 years ago I had a Ys160 in an aerobatic model that the wings folded in, hence model hit the ground.

Engine suffered a bent crankshaft, priced the repair at Probuildcrook, was advised by a club member to email Ys in Japan, got an instant reply with a price, £100 including my postage return cost from UK to Japan and back.

A fortnight later got the engine back and it run like a brand new motor, excellent service from the makers.

dsc_0115.jpgdsc_0114.jpgJust finished this plan built Curare, it has foam cored wings and tailplane cut for me by Cloud Models, fitted with electric retracts and powered by an OS 65 AX motor. I am waiting for a couple of props to arrive and this lockdown to be lifted so I can get out and give it it's maiden.

In the mean time I will crack on and get a PB Tornado ( also supplied by Cloud Models ) Built.smiley

Thread: Sealing foam cored wings
25/10/2019 11:58:02

Don Fry

So you think I should give the sanding sealer a try ? I am certain I have used dope/sanding sealer in the past on foam cored wings when I used to tissue cover them before painting and did not have any problems, so I think I might give it a go indecision

25/10/2019 09:12:45

I am building a Curare from a plan using foam cored wings and tailplane, I am thinking of glassing it using Poly C or deluxe Eazy Kote.

My question is, what do you use to seal the wings and tailplane other than sanding sealer due to it seeping into the foam,?

I will put some pictures on of my build when I get a chance, Jon, I have already cleaned up in the shed and burnt the shavings but still some more sanding and carving to go yet.

Hi All

Just an update regarding my order of 2x Lipos from the UK warehouse.

I emailed a complaint regarding the delay in sending me my order, this was the reply:

Hi Malcolm,

I have sent your comments/suggestions to the appropriate departments.
Please understand that this will continue to occur when you choose Parcelforce as a courier when shipping dangerous items like batteries, glue, paints and fuel
(Our system cannot reject a courier selection based on the goods involved)
But If the contacted departments have any further questions or feedback for you , they will contact you directly.
That being said....

Unfortunately ParcelForce courier service did not want to transport the Batteries in this order
due to the fact that they are now classified as hazardous materials and they were sent instead
by GC Distribution Ltd (courier service ) instead.
You can have the new courier track this parcel and possibly arrange a better delivery
by contacting the courier directly with the info below
Phone contact seems to work best!

GC Distribution Ltd

Beacon Hill Industrial Estate,

Respectfully Yours,
Bill A (USCS)
HobbyKing Support Team

In The first paragraph they say ( Please understand that this will continue to occur when you choose Parcelforce as a courier when shipping dangerous items like batteries, glue, paints and fuel
(Our system cannot reject a courier selection based on the goods involved)

I sent a reply saying on checkout I did not have any other option other than collect them myself from the UK warehouse.

I think from now on I will give Hobbyking a miss and give my custom to other outlets.
