Thread: new to wash out
27/06/2020 10:08:04

I'm so glad this topic has surfaced again

Ive just started my Albatros D3 wings and the washout on these is looking confusing, but at least you build the front half of the wing first then pack the rear spars and the Aileron tips!! they are like Eagles wing tip feathers!

Thread: Chris Foss Xtra Wot
22/06/2020 18:02:27

i have an old Xtrawot which i brought from Chris Foss's car boot at Sandown, last one in stock for the saturday of that show.

Anyway don't know if its been mentioned, i have a laser 150 in mine and it had to be laterally balanced with a couple of oz of lead on one wing tip

Hope that helps.

What i would be interested to know, given your dawn patrol expertise, is the correct way to rig the cabane struts. It just seems plain wrong to follow the BUSA instructions and screw metal plates to the cabane, surely creating a weak spot?.

i have images from the net of ian redshaws pup and the real thing but not sure what thickness steel? i should be using.

Also have the laser cut steel rigging from mick reeves just to give me a clue.....but im hopeful you could give us all a masterclass wink

no rush though been building mine for 3 yrs already.

cheers dave

Thread: Ripmax Phase 5e
26/02/2020 19:41:00

Not finished assembling mine yet but so far no complaints at all, everything is as straight as it should be.

Although my rudder hinge slots were so big the fuzzy hinges would not stick with CA so I replaced the hinges with pinned ones and epoxyed them in place.

What batteries do you use on this? 4s ?
