QF-86F Sabre Jet

At the other end of it's life the final use of many of the F-86F Sabre Jets as live fire target drones at the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake. It's a shame to see these beautiful jets blown out of the sky.

XP-86 - The First Flight

This film is silent, however it is rich in history.

The Air Force Engineering Division film report 342 USAF 14150 Initial Flight Tests:

The North American XP-86 Sabre took off on its first flight from Muroc Army Air Field on October 1, 1947.

The XP-86 was powered by a 4,000-pound thrust General Electric J35-C-3 jet engine.

PSSA The Great Orme 7th September 2019 - at the NW Cafe Slope.



Tim Mackey's A380 scale slope glider that has 4x engine pods that come off when landing, they knock off on first contact with the grass.

The event commemorated the 70th anniversary of the American air forces arriving at RAF Duxford in the Second World War.

270 x F86 please.

The Spanish Air Force acquired 270 U.S.-built F-86Fs, 1955–1958.

Designated as C.5s and assigned to 5 wings: - Ala de Caza 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.

Retired in 1972.

The Blue Impulse


An in-camera edit of Japan's acrobatic air team The Blue Impulse, in F-86 Super Sabres, in celebration of Okinawa returning to Japanese control. The music is "Eight Miles High" by the Kennedys.

A wire strike !

In 1971 an Australian Sabre Fighter aircraft struck two high tension power cables slang across a ravine. Although striking the wire at near 800 km per hour amazingly the aircraft and pilot survived. The Sabre is now on display.

Korean Sabres 4th FIW in 1950 / 1951

Black and White i.d. stripes

First unit with F-86 in Korea. These 4th FIW's Sabres are pictured during cold winter 1950-51 on the ground, clearly showing early black-white i.d.stripes.

An Incredible dogfight in Korean War.

In Korea an American F86 Sabre shots down an communist Mig 15 in a furious aerial dogfight between the pilots.
