Hi BEB

Actaually, I'm interested to hear Percy's own comments as I'm not sure that I at all agree with the thrust of what I read...

Hi Percy!

Sorry, but I'm a little confused...

Are you agreeing with BEB that Ade should try a pukka trainer or, are you saying he should join a club and be taught how to fly...?

Hi Mick

welcome to the 'Club', you are amongst friends so good luck with your endeavours.

Incidentally, where are you from? the 'North East' is a very large area...lol!

Hi Pat!

As BEB and Ade have said, you have come to the right place for advice and even inspiration....

When it's late in the day and a building problem is doing your head in, just post your problem and I'll bet its a problem solved in a jiffy (whatever one of those is...).

You will often feel that you need to ask a question that you may think others will laugh at but, as they say, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.... but it is true.

Good luck with the hobby and we all look forward to hearing of your exploits.... have you got any models in mind?

Well Martin

You shouldn't feel inadequate, just pop along to the local computer shop and see the babies in their pushchairs typing away on a laptop.... we live in the wrong era mate.... lol!

Hi Tim

I e-mailed CML myself this morning and have received an Iimmediate reply from Steve Mallinder who flew the Smart in theirvpromo video and he says that he has just added a couple of clicks of throttle trim as the motor appears to prefer to spin.... I suppose we will just have to see how matters progress.

Anyway, I had already ordered one this morning and look forward to delivery on Friday

Hi Tim

Oh dear no! Is it bad?

Have you spoken to KLM or CML about it yet?

Hi Geoff!

Oh dear, touche then....

I have rebuilt her and she flies as straight as a dye but the wings were shettered by the elastic bands. I now but one diagonally and two back to front incase of a similar incident. As far as I can see the V.I should not have allowed our incidents to happen..... but that dropped elevator.....hmmmmmm...

I am going to fit a standard receiver soon as the V.I prevents rolls and inverted flight, even when switched off... they should ban flying aids you know...ha! LOL...

Hi Ade

Can't you just feel the trouble brewing............. you are a very, very, very naughty boy!!!............ etc etc etc etc.....

If you are the member of a club you could be excommunicated.....

Don't say you weren't warned....

Enjoy your day....

Hi Adrian!

Verrrreeeeee funny, perhaps you have missed your true vocation in life up, until now that is..... perhaps you should re-write Fifty Shades of Grey to make it more exciting for the male fraternity...

You do realise that you will be getting a tutorial from people in ivory towers on the sanity of your actions..... and, no doubt, one from the Health & Safety Executive as well....LOL!!!

With my heart condition I think it might be best if I give EDF's a wide berth....

Thanks for getting my day off to a bright start!!!

Regards

Bob

p.s.where is it you live so I can give it a wide berth....Ha!

In my opinion, anything that helps someone through the early pitfalls of this hobby has to be applauded.

People who spend hard earned cash buying a model and associated equipment only perhaps to see it in splinters or foam granules is only going to stay in the hobby for so long before leaving dispirited, especially if they are the go it alone type.

We see new electronic gadgets on a regular basis in the modelling press and we are probably getting to a point with the more complex models I.e jets and large scale planes where they would be difficult to control without gizzmos.

At the end of the day you don't undo technology and nobody forces someone to buy or use equipment against their will...

I think that most people will see the challenges that the hobby throws at you and will face them head on as their experience and knowledge grows, lets just hope they stay with it...

It sure does Tim, it seems really stable, almost as if it had a gyro receiver fitted. Come to think of it I have an Ar635 receiver tucked away ready for an Sbach....
