That will be fine, but ideally raise the tank a smidge so the centre line of the tank is in line with the centre of that big black hole that sucks the air in.

Just stick the centre of the tank roughly level with the carb intake and you'll be fine. There's no black magic to it, and as long as you don't tell it, a Laser doesn't care if it's upside down back to front or sideways.

I've had success using Cline regulators on Lasers - but I wouldn't recommend them.

I had a 240V in a big F3A Pattern model, I wanted to stick the tank on the CG, so used a bladder tank, pressurized by one exhaust, feeding two Cline regulators, one to each carb.

It was a faff, a right pain, but it did work. The Clines themselves only have tiny connections and the fuel tube kept coming off. Getting all of the air out of the system after each flight was a pain, and all the flippin pipework everywhere was confusing. Eventually all of the chrome plating inside the Cline regulators peeled off and they packed up.

The Clines are not made anymore as far as I know, and were damned expensive for what they were. A similar thing is sold by "Iron Bay Models" though I think.

But - don't do it. It's not worth the hassle. Find a way of rotating the engine or moving the tank so it's closer.

Ooooooh !!! The Lancaster just flew over my house in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire ! It was heading south.

I've checked on the BBMF website, and it's at Blackpool Airshow tomorrow ? It's based in Lincolnshire, so what the blazes was it doing down here at 2pm this afternoon ?

Fabulous to see though, I was running around the garden waving and whooping like a six year old

Wonderful to hear Ernie is still flying. I remember the discussions he and I had at shows and in the shop bemoaning the state of modelling ! I retired my Fleet gear long long ago now, but still have the odd Fleet Servo in things. Ernie had the most spectacularly hairy ears that I've ever seen ! I hope he's kept that up

I used 2 Cline Regulators on a 240V. I used a 500ml bladder tank on the CG of the model (located 30cm behind the engine), pressurised from both exhausts. This fed two Cline Regulators located between the engine cylinders.

It worked remarkably well, perfectly consistent fuel supply, and no in-flight CG shift (it was an F3A model)

But ... as John says, it was bloody expensive, bloody fiddly, plumbing everywhere, and a pain to operate. The Cline Regulators both rotted internally and I wouldn't do it again.

But, by 'eck the engine ran good !

It really did fly superbly, and looked potentially very aerobatic too !

Photography was really difficult though, fast grey model against a grey sky ... plus an old camera I might have to spend some money before the next outing !

Have you actually measured the difference in CG between wheels up/down ? I suspect it's naff all, also any model where such a marginal change in CG makes it unstable has much bigger problems.

Compare the situation to the difference in CG with a full/empty tank. Thats huge in comparison.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Vauxhall Insignia estate ?

Don't get one. Mine is dreadful, huge mistake to get after my old Mondeo. The rear seats don't go flat and the rear end is rounded off (not good for big models) Driving wise, it's flakey, almost got a mind if its own, and don't get me started on that fu%?#@g electronic handbrake ...

In 80K it's had several problems including a new clutch, gearbox, flywheel and brake bits. In 4 years the Mondeo blew a headlight bulb.

It's up for renewal in June thank gawd, Mondeo all the way now.

When the skin is cold, blood vessels near the surface get narrower. If the skin is then exposed to heat, the blood vessels become wider.

If this happens too quickly, blood vessels near the surface of the skin can't always handle the increased blood flow. This can cause blood to leak into the surrounding tissue, which may cause the swelling and itchiness associated with chilblains.

WarbirdColours is beautiful paint to use, I love the stuff, gutted the supply is drying up.

Just phoned them, and the cost of import and supply is now just too much.

They have a few colours left, but I've just relieved them of half of it hahaha

On the good news front ... They are hoping to source a UK supplier of an equivalent paint in the future.
