Thread: Squeeze me clamps
22/09/2019 09:14:50

You've probably seen these but Poundland are selling 4 clamps with flexi tips for a quid. Not sure how they compare to anything else as these are my first. The spring tension feels strong so I will see how they go as I don't want to buy a lot if they damage the balsa.

One or two were faster than most when racing, did the engines get checked over first ?

Just watched the whole video yes looks like you had fun. The folks with the cow bells want shooting.

They were probably drunk by the late afternoon.

Well it must have been the booze or was it windy as some of the take offs were a bit vertical laugh

Thread: Steel ruler
04/08/2019 08:02:56

It's difficult to tell if it's streight in the shop as its in a plastic sheath with a cable tie round the top so you can't slide it out. So far it's seems ok, a bit on the flexable side though but still better than what I had before. My other was hinged in the middle which made it stand off surfaces over 30cm and it made using cutting blades tricky.

If anyone is after a cheap 60cm steel ruler there is some in Poundland for a quid. I know it's not he best but it's better than I had before.

Thread: James May's program tonight

Thanks for mentioning this as I missed it, forgot about it but now have it on catch up yes

Thread: Is it now time for cyclists to wear an identifier and pay a tax?
21/06/2019 19:11:52

I`d say no to both, tax should be on fuel or mileage so the ones who use the roads more pay more. Might encourage more train and bus trips.

Thread: My biggest "model" yet

You could enter the caravan driver of the year now , you`d ace the parking yes

Just got my fingers crossed and hoping some one has a copy of the instructions for one of these. I was kindly given an old airframe which has a few problems to sort out so I thought I would do a proper job on it. Any info and tips for one of these gratefully received yes

Thread: Laser Engines - Technical questions
28/05/2019 18:49:00

Good idea Bob, plus I can do that easily when the engine is vertical later on. yes

28/05/2019 14:33:35

I keep looking at fitting it into this Flair Astrohog, only I don't want to cut the nose about. I would rather keep the vertical engine, the fuel tank is as high as its going to get so the centers look like 30mm apart with the engine mounted on paxilon.

28/05/2019 13:44:34

On a Laser 70 how high could you install the carb center level above the center line of the fuel tank before it would cause problems ?
