4 of us in deepest Somerset at 9 am. Perfect conditions but low suns a pain on left side. Had 6 up on UMX ✈️and 1 🚁fly. Few problems for others with lipos going down in temp and Rx aerials breaking off. No bin liners tho !😂😂😂😂

Thread: Which would you choose and why?

Steve - with those 2 in your stable I doubt it’s flying capabilities will be much different! FMS Avanti!!! Colin

Sebart. If it flies as well as all his other designs then it will be superb ! The Shark with slats will hover , motor off , in a12 mph wind ! Colin

Thread: DX8 gen 1 and Lemon rx compatibility issue?
14/07/2020 20:31:04

Don't know if this helps but I've seen a lemon Rx bind to a DX61 on DSM 2 when it should have been DSMX ! 2 crashes later and when I looked over the plane and tx I noticed this. We rebound on DSMX and all problems disappeared ! Crashes were no more than 80 yards ??? Colin

Thread: Acrowot Foam E Legacy
06/07/2020 20:42:34

I never had any problems with mine apart from the wooden motor mount compressing the foam shoulders in the fuselage sides and becoming loose. Gorilla glue solved the problem but eventually it became loose again. On flight 320 it killed it !💀💀Electronically nothing failed despite the wings coming off to transport and store. Loved it ! Colin

Thread: Does anyone remember...
28/06/2020 18:11:40

Used to get our Model Racing Hulls from the shop in Clapham ! First synthetic fuel which used to absorb the moisture in the boats and bearing failure became common , quickly ! What about Model Aircraft Supplies Camberwell ? Can’t remember his name , but stopped off from work on Fridays for bits. He had a lathe in the basement and would turn down the flywheels on Mercos to get them lower in the hulls. Nice , helpful chap !! Lewisham Model Centre , supplier of first Mcgregor S/C and Wave Rider ! Colin

Thread: AS3X Programming

Have a look at the Lemon Rx stabilisers. No pc programming. Pots on Rx. Lots in use where I fly. No problems ! Colin

Thread: New Beginner to Model Helicopters

Sounds as though whatever locks the flybar axle is missing a lock of one sort or another. Can you see if a grub screw or similar is missing. A quick fix would be a pair of collets to lock the axle in a balanced position Morley 🚁 used similar decades ago. Colin

Thread: Things that have dropped off in flight
11/06/2020 19:14:21

Sebart Shark 🦈coming out of a loop, when I heard a strange noise and thought I saw the spinner hanging off ! Cut the throttle and dead sticked down ok. Walked over to the model and saw the motor hanging out of the nose with wires twisted to hell. The fibre mount had broken apart and motor fell out of the cowl !😱😱All the bits were inside the cowl so a rebuild wasn’t too much of a problem. It was a secondhand plane that was purchased in 2012 and never flown. No gussets on mount which were added during the rebuild. Colin

Malcolm. Are you going to teach yourself? I would try to find somebody to test fly it for you if you cannot ! Helis strapped down are not ideal for fault finding I find. It’s likely to be main or tail blade balance and a test hover will help identify it ! Colin

Thread: Control linkages
07/06/2020 20:58:48

All 5 of my Sebart 30’s use carbon rod secured by a cap head bolt at both ends. 700 flights without even needing tightening up ! Can’t be that awful ! Colin
