Large scale Handley Page 42 Vintage 1930s Airliner
Undoubtedly a work of flying art and a very well setup reproduction of this 1930s airliner. Worth watching the engine start sequence alone ! Flown by Joachim Damrath, this Handley Page 42 oozes style and elegance as it cruises around the sky at the Airliner Treffen Show. At 1/10th scale the Wing span / wingspan is 3.96 metres and length is 2.8 metres. A fantastic and unique flying aircraft of a bygone era of airliner passenger travel.
At 1:6 scale and 18 feet wingspan these are certainly giant scale RC aircraft. Each Lanc is powered by four Zenoah 38 engines. Flown by Steve and Andy at Weston Park International Model Show.
Not just jets at Airliner Treffen. Some very nice fixed wing passenger type aircraft were displayed. Here Ralph and Wolfgang fly their scratch built Beech-18s. I don't think they had flown together before but they did an awesome display for the attending crowd !
Owned and built by Keith Mitchell, this model took 5 years of combined design and construction. Its initial flights were taken under the Large Model Association scheme (approved by the CAA) for model aircraft over 80KG. It underwent 12 test flights for combined flight time of more than 2 hours to get it's LMA\CAA certificate to fly at public shows.
Our annual treat at seeing Dave Johnson's huge Avro Vulcan, powered by four gas turbine engines, flown at RAF Cosford. This year flown in formation with the equally large Victor flown by his son, Andy.
Probably the best demonstration I have seen of Gunter Zielke's unique and innovative electronic smoke system. This also shows off the G-force initiation of the smoke system as the pilot performs some high speed aerobatics.
This Lockheed L-1011 Tristar would have been perfect by itself but when his son used the RC tug/tractor to pull it out to the runway...and pull it back to the pits...
Pit Walk at LMA Cosford Show
Twin turbine powered Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird scorches down the strip at Airliner Treffen. Flown to perfection by Matthias Blaß with his father Walter, the builder of this jet, assisting on the flight line.
Probably the fastest way to fly RC Limbo
Caught my good friend Pete down the flying field practicing for the upcoming Funfly competition at the BMFA Power Nationals. This is his own design inspired by what he has seen in previous years at the competition. And there was me thinking he would fly a circuit before going under the limbo each time ! Nope.
Jase Dussia: Ignoring the Laws of Physics
Seriously, this guy has zero respect for the laws of physics! Any other RC pilot understands the basic concepts of gravity and lift and turbulence etc and stays within them...but not Jase. He just ignores those limitations and puts his airframe through unreal torture...all for the appreciation of the crowd at Weston Park International Model Show. Breathtaking stuff !
Jase is flying an Extreme Flight R/C Slick 580 powered by a Desert Aircraft DA120.

This was something you would very rarely see, if ever ! Three magnificent large scale twin turbine powered Concorde Airliners. Built to perfection, featuring smoke and nose droop...and all flown expertly in close formation.
Giant Boeing 777-9X Electric Ducted Fan (EDF) Airliner
Master aeromodeller, Ramy, flies his EDF Boeing 777-9X for the big crowd at Airliner Treffen in Germany. Spectacular !
Christoph Hemming loaded maximum pyrotechnics onto his RC heli for this display in the Weston Park International Model Night Show
Orel Zohar & Jase Dussia redefining 3D aerobatics and in formation. Quite incredible.

Amazing jets being displayed for the first time at Weston Park International Model Show.

Take a ride onboard the huge Avro Vulcan Bomber flown by Dave Johnson, UK Large Model Association (LMA) Chairman. After he gets in the air the Valiant and Victor bombers flown by his son and grandson, Andy and Adam, take off and catch up for some formation flying.
This is a regular video containing 360 panoramic clips that have been animated to capture the optimum action.
The Avro Vulcan is powered by four 100N turbine engines and has a 20 foot wingspan !
Avios Spitfire MkVb (fast/slow passes and scale aerobatics)
Some really nice scale details on this Spitfire. Flap indicators, cockpit detail, split flaps and hidden control surface linkages to name a few. Vid of my first flight. Immediate confidence to strafe the strip with fast passes but mixed in slow passes to show it's broad ability...and some scale aerobatics.
Superb re-creation of the C-130 with scale retractable landing gear and synchronised doors, flaps, operational cargo bay door and high intensity lights all round. Action from my first two flights after showing the kit itself before assembly.
