Piper Super Cub displayed at the last ModelAir Event at Old Warden Aerodrome. This is a recreation of the exact aircraft in the local Shuttleworth Collection. Aeromodelling at it's best !

Very quick assembly of this new Freewing Saab JAS-39 Gripen but the transmitter setup for the elevons and canards was a little challenging. On first flight I failed to get this jet in the air with 6S6000 pack. CG too far forward. But with 6S5000 it jumped into the air. Trimmed out for roll quickly on first circuit then hit the deck for low smooth passes and nice axial rolls. Another excellent jet from Freewing.

After Carl showed me his nitro Spitfire I had to get in on the action so got a Tiger Moth. Powered by a Laser 100. Why didn't I do this sooner ! Over 20 years since I've flown a glow powered model. Fantastic.

We're enjoy a bit of a nitro/glow power rennaisance in the Essential RC team at the moment. Wouldn't mind a few more especially a twin if I could find one...but here's Carl with is Laser 70 powered Spitfire.

3rd in the Eachine 400mm Micro Warbird series is out. Preceeded by the P-51 Mustang and F4U Corsair. This flies just as well. I leave it in MIDD mode. EXPERT mode is too sensitive for most fingers...and contrary to what I say in the video you can pull loops and rolls in stabilised MIDD mode. BEGINNER mode limits pitch and roll and prevents inverted flight. Durability of these models is great. The prop pops off in a bad arrival and just clicks back in place.

Thanks Richard. Really appreciate the feedback.

Second fright of our over priced X-Flight A320 after a few repairs, modifications and a more rearward CG. Better than the near disastrous maiden flight.

My second flight so far more fun in aerobatics. No doubt will take it to the slope or try to catch some thermals soon.

A fun film project this one. Adding to the realism with some onboard views from this magnificent scale helicopter.

Adrian flies his spectacular Roban HH-60 Jayhawk US Coast Guard Helicopter in breezy conditions and makes it look easy. A lot of custom detail added to this helicopter to make it look as authentic as possible in the air.

Our first flight with this big ready to fly Extra 330 from FMS. Even in the hands of an experienced 3D pilot it will take a few spins to get the best from it but our Trevor did good in the conditions.

22/07/2020 17:28:35

Exceptional subject matter and exceptionally well flown by the pilot. One of my all time favourite aircraft. One day day...

Well Dom I love 'em!

Most of it I will never attempt, but I ENJOY the clips. Keep up the good work.

That's the plan Adrian. We have too much fun to stop. Not enough hours in a day. That's our main problem.

Dom, you invest your time for others enjoyment and cover a broad range of models so there is something for everyone, the very aspect which makes this hobby so enjoyable.. keep calm and carry on as they say, a lot of us really appreciate your efforts.

Again, thank you. I've got used to posting on here and not getting any feedback so it's genuinely fantastic to hear the effort me and my close put friends put into Essential RC is appreciated. Cheers.

Thanks Ron. Very much appreciated. I do what I and my friends enjoy. It's as simple as that. Believe me it wouldn't be possible to run a YouTube channel for ~15 years unless it was fun. wink

I would be interested to hear from Richard what HE thinks IS impressive. If you generalise to the extent he is then all RC model aircraft go 'round and round and up and down'. I cover most things on the 'Essential RC' YouTube channel so I must be missing something!?
