David, No there are no models in there. They are all over the house, garage and loft. I also have an indoor workroom, for assembly. I wanted the shed for all the dirty works, cutting, sanding etc.
I know insulation would be a boon, but might be difficult as the whole things plastic so making batten fitting difficult maybe. Although I could no doubt attempt to glue them on. I’ll look into it.
Thanks good people. I’ve had a quick look at all the suggestions, the cheaper end of the calor gas heaters mostly seem to be out of stock, end of production maybe. Available ones are a couple of hundred quid, awful lot of draught Bass!
I’ve taken the point re fan heaters, but strategically placed might be ok for instant defrosting, with the oil filled rad to take over. Otherwise I’m set, DAB radio for Planet Rock, beautiful lighting, scroll, bench saws, drill press, & of course a kettle (Yorkshire Tea). Next buy is a small hobby size disc cum belt sander. **LINK** Anyone got one, or similar?

i have a new workshop. A 6x8 plastic shed. I need to install some form of heater to keep my old bones warm, just wondered what would be best. I only intend it to be on whilst I’m in residence.

Funny that you have fired up this thread now, as only today have started glueing tin pin hinges. From your advice I decided to use titebond. I used a very small aperture squeezy bottle, plus a smearing onto the hinge, stopping well short of the hinge joint. This I had also greased, as advised.
Against Cymaz’s advice I did one side at a time, but will heed that tip tomorrow when I continue.
As far as I can tell, it’s been a success, won’t know til morning when I can give them a good tug.

Ok thanks for all the info. Going to try epoxy poking, and aliphatic, see which I get on with. I haven’t got any gorilla, had some but it went hard in the bottle after a couple of years! I don’t want to buy more as I wouldn’t use it very often.
i have decided to try Robart pin hinges for the first time. I have reached the point of glueing them in. Just wondering if anyone has a trick for getting the rather viscous epoxy well down into the holes, especially the small 1/8” sizes, without making a mess all over my new shiny covering? I will already be masking around the hole, but am unsure how to get deep penetration down rather than just the top couple of mm.
Or should I use a thinner adhesive?

Yes I forgot to say it was an indoor model. Well I have to say it’s a new one on me. Probably the last thing I’ll learn this year!
I was talking to a guy yesterday (non flyer) who told me he remembered his Dad taking him to a model show some 30, or so, years ago. There was a modelling demonstration going on and he saw the modeller covering a plane by lifting a skin off of a liquid, and carefully laying it over the model, where presumably it dried into a covering film. I cannot imagine what this could have been. Anyone enlighten me.

I was indeed thinking of a component failure, as opposed to a tx being knocked. I have to say that speaking to people no one seems to have considered this to be a likelyhood.
I think it would be good practice to have a plan in mind beforehand, as I’m sure there would be a considerable panic and headless chicken syndrome occurring in the heat of the moment. Anyway thanks for your thoughts. Your varied replies seem to indicate why I have not seen much in print on a recommended course of action.
Let’s all hope we never have to deal with it!

I have a woodpecker and it is very efficient when used on sheeting before covering. Also nice tool to transfer plan onto wood. Roll a single wheel, they are removable, along the outside of the part outline, and finally run along the holes with a pencil/pen.

I have read many times, in articals, and forums, that as soon as a lipo is connected into the model the pilot must be aware that the aircraft is then “live” I understand this, and agree one should be alert.
My query is what do I do if the worst happens and the motor fires up unexpectedly. I cannot remember seeing a best course of action that should be undertaken. On many models it is not easy to access the battery and connectors with a stationary prop never mind one that has now become a lethal weapon. So has anyone experienced such an event (no one at my club has) and what was the method to kill the motor?
