I bought a brand new Aldi scroll saw twelve months ago on a whim because they were on special offer.
It's not even been taken out of its original box, so that's how much I needed it!
£30 collected from near Coleshill or you organise a courier at your expense.
Thread: Dave Burton (BEB)
I too thought it odd that he wasn't popping up on the forum in recent months.
Very sad news indeed and the loss of all that knowledge; I learned a great deal from him (and others) on here.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
'Now he has slipped the surly bonds of Earth
Thread: Phoenix RC Simulator Ver 3
I downloaded 5.5 and saved it for future use, just in case mine went down.
Let me know if you want it sent to you; it's 1.41Gb zipped.
Thread: Heated Gloves
You certainly are Colin
As a youth on a flight deck in the Arctic it was often below -30 and the wind chill during launch/retrieve made it a lot worse but it didn't bother me then.
I bought two pairs and they are very good but, I have Raynaud's and my fingers from the middle knuckle still go white within a few minutes, just not as quickly as when I don't wear them
I would like to try heated gloves that send the heat directly to the fingers, if they exist?
Thread: Lest We Forget.
My wife and I spent a week or so touring the Somme area in 2006 and visited many of the military cemeteries and memorials including Thiepval and Beaumont-Hamel. Canadian youngsters are sent to Beaumont-Hamel every year to act as guides and learn about their ancestors. We thought that that was a great thing to do and should be encouraged by all nations involved.
The underground tunnel museum in Albert was interesting too, but the lasting impression was the sheer numbers of casualties in that war and how remarkably pristine all the cemeteries are maintained. The youngest age we spotted on a gravestone was 14 years old!
Thread: ALDI scroll saw now £9.99 !!!! in Coleshill
That's right, I've just returned from the new ALDI store in Coleshill and they are now selling them at £9.99.
I asked an assistant and he confirmed the price; there were eight left.
Thread: Aldi scroll saw £60 now £40

Thread: DJI 450 Quadcopter
I eventually bought a DJI 450 and flew it a few times but the novelty has worn off so it's in the BMFA classified ads if any forumite fancies trying a quad:-

I suffer from selective memory and selective hearing, or so my wife says!
The symptoms started shortly after we married forty eight years ago
