I'm in the need of a cheap scroll saw, I've managed without one since I came back into the hobby. Must be in working order, spare blades available & within 50 miles from Southport or in a box substantial enough to trust to a carrier.

I bought a brand new Aldi scroll saw twelve months ago on a whim because they were on special offer.

It's not even been taken out of its original box, so that's how much I needed it!

£30 collected from near Coleshill or you organise a courier at your expense.

Hi Eric,

No problem, I'll do it in the morning and PM you.

Thread: Dave Burton (BEB)

I too thought it odd that he wasn't popping up on the forum in recent months.

Very sad news indeed and the loss of all that knowledge; I learned a great deal from him (and others) on here.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

And dances the skies on laughter-silvered wings'

Dave,

I downloaded 5.5 and saved it for future use, just in case mine went down.

Let me know if you want it sent to you; it's 1.41Gb zipped.

I must be lucky ! Just put a coat on over my shirt ! Got a pair of £1 gloves Mrs cut tops off thumb and finger .Put them on if it's cold wind while flying ! I wear same pair of goretex boots all year to keep feet dry ! I drive my Mrs up the wall cos I'm always saying it's not cold !😁😁 2 of us this morning early . Minus 2 lots of sun no wind .Lovely 😉😉 Colin

You certainly are Colin yes

As a youth on a flight deck in the Arctic it was often below -30 and the wind chill during launch/retrieve made it a lot worse but it didn't bother me then.
Nowadays Raynaud's and age dictate otherwisecrying

22/11/2018 15:28:52

I bought two pairs and they are very good but, I have Raynaud's and my fingers from the middle knuckle still go white within a few minutes, just not as quickly as when I don't wear them frown

I would like to try heated gloves that send the heat directly to the fingers, if they exist?

15 years old. Ye Gods.

My wife and I spent a week or so touring the Somme area in 2006 and visited many of the military cemeteries and memorials including Thiepval and Beaumont-Hamel. Canadian youngsters are sent to Beaumont-Hamel every year to act as guides and learn about their ancestors. We thought that that was a great thing to do and should be encouraged by all nations involved.

The underground tunnel museum in Albert was interesting too, but the lasting impression was the sheer numbers of casualties in that war and how remarkably pristine all the cemeteries are maintained. The youngest age we spotted on a gravestone was 14 years old!

Thread: ALDI scroll saw now 9.99 !!!! in Coleshill
09/09/2018 15:46:33

That's right, I've just returned from the new ALDI store in Coleshill and they are now selling them at £9.99.

I asked an assistant and he confirmed the price; there were eight left.

Where abouts is the Aldi in Coleshill, might be handy for the odd spot of shopping on the way home.

Station Road, on the right a few hundred yards after BMTR tyres.

BARGAIN ALERT

I've just got back from shopping and picked up one of these for £28 (reduced from £69.99).

I wasn't looking for one, but at that price I couldn't resist!

Suggest you phone your local Aldi first as the one I bought was the last at their Castle Bromwich store.

Happy New Year smiley

Shep

Further to the above, after several months I haven't even opened the box!

So, if someone wants to collect it from near Coleshill (B46) and reimburse me £28, pm me.
