Will try again asap subject to wx smiley

Wish I'd found that rcgroups link before I maidened it laugh

I've bought a balance checker from HK and using that I had set it at 120mm as per the manual.

I've added more lead in the nose (total of 135g) and it now balances at 100mm. AUW 1880g.

I hope to fly it tomorrow and will post the result.

Thanks chaps.

Hi Rich,

265mm or 345mm including the aileron.

I bought this ARTF **LINK** at the Weston Park show and maidened it today. Very short flight ended in maize which saved it!

C of G in the manual says 120mm from root le so that's where I set it, but it was all over the place and very obviously tail heavy.

So I used **LINK** which comes up with ~ 80mm from le.

To get this C of G I'd have to add .........over 300g of nose weight!

Anyone else got this model and solved it without so much dead weight?

NTM Prop Drive (146g)
Turnigy Plush 60A ESC (75g)
Zippy 3S 2700 Lipo (199g)

Thread: Lost Model Alarm for Taranis
24/07/2015 20:48:13

Thanks Chaps, I'll use RSSI and an alarm buzzer. Belt and braces as it took four of us over two hours to find my lost PC9 in a barley field a fortnight ago!

Now repaired and ready to fly again, subject to our WX indecision

Thread: Lost Model Alarm for Taranis

I'm looking for a lost model alarm for use with X8R receivers. I bought one from HK but apparently they don't work with Failsafe.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thread: Taranis battery upgrade
01/07/2015 15:34:29

I've bought this battery for my Taranis Plus but the power connector is the wrong one.

Is it simply a matter of moving the positive wire in the black plug and using that, or do I need an adaptor?

TIA Shep

Thread: setting up
03/06/2015 18:03:17

HI Bernard,

I used this to set up my Irvine 53 ABC (2 stroke) and it now works well.

I presume the instructions also apply to 4 strokes but I'm not sure.

Hope it helps.

Thread: Taranis Software updates
07/05/2015 11:26:30

Thanks Pat, I had flashed one X8R but it didn't work so I must have done something else wrong.

Bob, Thanks for your very kind offer but:-

I slept on it last night (not literally) and woke up thinking about why it wouldn't work for this morning I went through ALL of the advice on this great forum, started again and, lo and behold, it works laugh

I still don't know what my mistake was but I've now updated my tx and receivers and the sun is shining!

One of my sons often says 'Easy is boring'

Thanks chaps.

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to Taranis Plus and during this current weather decided to have a go at installing the EU firmware. I think/know I've messed it up because I can't now bind to any of my three X8R receivers. They were quite happily working in my models until now!

Anyone in the West Midlands prepared to help? I'm at Maxstoke near Coleshill and will happily pay a guru for assistance.

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
- Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Deepest sympathies, Shep
