Argos are excellent for customer service, lets hope they continue in business.

Martin, be truthful- you certainly would not have been happy to be out of pocket or you wouldn't have started this thread.

You would rather see another LHS go to the wall than accept their apology for a mistake in order.

If you like, pm me and I'll transfer you £10 and you can ask the mods to remove this thread.

You want sympathy? For a few missing sheets of balsa?

This thread cracks me up!

I found the plan on Google. Looks quite a nice kit. The advice about EBay is good. Also, now that you are registered here put a notice on the appropriate thread so we can all watch it. You will find the builder on this Forum, that is for sure.

I could even be interested in bidding myself!!!

could you put a link to the plan, Peter? I can't find it.But I like the model.

Thread: 2.4Ghz - Getting the best link

Posted by Martin Harris on 08/03/2017 22:46:38:

I once tried an experiment with a 2.4 MHz module equipped radio. I flew a model as far and high from me as I was comfortable with and pointed the aerial directly at the model. There was no effect on control whatsoever...

Futaba, I suppose?

I wonder, has anyone ever had to have a Futaba RF board replaced?

Futaba don't do faulty radios, so it is not an issue.

I can't understand why, for the sake of 1 or 2 hundred pounds more, people are prepared to risk costly models (in time and money), when they could buy one of the reliable radios.

Then they wouldn't have to worry about other user's reliabilty reports or after-service quality.

Thread: Tissan Haifa Banana
05/03/2017 10:04:24

I always wanted one, but I remember they were very expensive.Still available and still too expensive!https://coxengines.ca/model-airplane-rc-kit-banana-standard.html

Here's a build thread:**LINK**

From the thread:You will not be disappointed, kit quality is like the old OK Pilot kits with a bit of touch (parts are machined and sanded to fit).

On a O.S. 10 its a fun little rocket, on a Cox Tee Dee .049 it flies very graceful.

Tee Dee .051 or .09 is a happy mid (Novel .074 would be awesome).

When its out of fuel and its time to land, it glides forever (some have even converted this plane into a fun slope glider).

With an .049 it weighs 550g ready to fly.

Wow, fantastic. I hope you manage to stick with it Ted. Please let us know how you're getting on in a week or two?

Hello Nigel, I am pleased to report that after 2 weeks and a bit I am doing fine, still quit, and more determined than ever never to start that nonsense again!

Oh, I get it now. Here's another article on it:**LINK**

I'm not tryin to be difficult, but from Cymaz's photo, all it is doing is obstructing airfllow through the cowl.

26/02/2017 22:28:40

I must admit the idea of baffles baffes me.

How can restricting the airfow over the engine improve cooling?

Thread: Am I drinking too much?
20/02/2017 20:43:16

Nigel- will do.

Jonathan- I'm not a builder.

30 years ago I had to be a builder- built a number of trainers,a 100s sailplane as well as a number of slope soarers including the ubiquitous Impala, Cambrian funfighters etc.but only because in those days if you didn't build a model, you didn't have one!

Now, I have forsaken glow fuel and balsa for electric and foam.I feel a bit guilty about this, but it is even cheaper than building models, and a lot quicker.

How did the meeting with the doctor go Ted?

John, I am pleased David and others are showing an interest:

The GP slapped me across the face and shouted "stop wasting time that could be spent with genuine patients!"

No, not really.

Apparently drinking excessively is a growing problem with reasonably affluent retirees - we don't need to get up to go to work and don't miss the money!

Things went well- she debated a home detox- I didn't need it as had already quit 48 hrs without problems.

Prescribed Trazedone, which helps with sleep without being addictive.

I no longer drink alcohol and feel much, much better-mentally as well as physically.

Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words from this forum.
