Thread: Very low mileage older car - should I be suspicious?
15/06/2017 15:07:20

Depends on make and model of car.

I bought a Rover 25 on a 52 plate with 24000 on the clock, I had the car for over 5 years and only spent money on 2 tyres and a middle box.

I now have another 2005 on a 54 plate with only 39800 and it is a dream to drive.

They never were a boy racers car, and they never were bought by attention seekers, usually second car and not abused.

So there are still bargains in private sales but doo your homework.

Thread: Insurance prices
02/06/2017 13:37:16

I get my insurance through a well known insurance comparison site ( love meerkats).

I renewed my insurance in May with a new (to me) company.

I then got renewal documents from my existing company, I phoned them on 12/5/17 and informed that I no longer required their services, I also wrote on the documents that i did not want their insurance and returned the documents to the Post Box number in wolverhampton.

Yesterday i received insurance from this company despite phoning and returning their documents, thay had taken over £300 from my bank account, I have phoned them and spoken to customer service and returned insurance documents and got proof of posting.

I now await them returning my money, all this after I cancelled automatic renewal last year

Piers Bowlan

Can you guarantee that everyone who drives a car has passed a driving test, carries car insurance or a legit MOT, NO YOU CANT

you should look at youtube at cycle accidents to see the number of people injured by cyclists doing the most stupid things.

Wake up and smell the coffee, you obviously have your eyes wide shut...

1) Does every car salesman/women have to point out the dangers of driving.

2) Does every bicycle salesmen/women have to point out the dangers of cycling.

Almost any action "can" cause death or injury if being done irresponsibly.

Look at .22 target shooting by sportsmen, they had thier guns banned and has that stopped people being harmed by firearms...NO!

Does all the legislation regarding drivers and cyclists stop people being harmed by cars and cycles...No!

Legislation NO Education YES

I use an Imax B6AC+ Dual power

A dual 240-12 volt input which is a great charger for home and field use with a 12v battery.

Not the cheapest but worth the money if you buy from a reputable dealer.

Give auction site a miss as many are fake, as I found to my cost.

Thread: Complete beginner - currently using simulator, what next?

Hi Jim

Welcome to the hobby

Find a local club, join and start the learning process.

Most clubs have instructors, and trainers you could use for your first flights.

Thread: Kit builders, what would you like???
14/12/2016 21:08:58

Hi Donald

I have to admit to all the above.

I am a hamfisted tool abuser, but i know my limitations, I prefer to buy models that I know will fly safely rather than send a pile of firewood into the sky to arrive on someones head because I don't have the inclination, patience or manual dexterity to fiddle for weeks with bundles of sticks, paper and glue.

Thread: Amazon completes first Prime Air delivery in Cambridge
14/12/2016 20:55:50

Hi All

Just watched the Amazon advert/video about UAV delivery.

From their own advert it would appear that it breaks the law, they state that delivery is autonomous and controlled by GPS. Is this a case of one law for us and another for them or are they hoping that if it raises no objections, then they can approach the authorities saying that no one complained so it must be OK.

Make a noise, BE heard,e mail your MP and complain.

NO denial here.

I know I do not have the inclination, patience or dexterity to build kits.

That does not mean I am any less a model enthusiast and flyer, I just don't build them.

Hi All

Ordered gloves on Mon 12th they arrived today 14th, What great service.

The leather is so soft and supple and the inner gloves are also soft and comfortable, I shall be wearing these gloves for more than just flying days.

These gloves are well worth the £22.00 inc del.

Regards

John H
