Thread: Seagull Dual Ace Laser Build

Is it time to balance my model?

The C of G according to this on line manual
https://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/SEA4025_manual.pdf
is 80-90 mm back from LE.
The supplied manual states 105 to 115mm .

The front of the wing (LE) is straight and the wing's average chord is 31.5 cm.

Based on average chord, CofG will be:

25.4% 80 mm back from LE
27% 85 mm back from LE
28.6% 90 mm back from LE
30% 95 mm back from LE
31,7% 100 mm from LE
33.3% 105 mm back from LE
35% 110 mm back from LE
36,5% 115 mm back from LE

Think I will try 85-90 mm from LE for a start.

Curious about where your ( other DualAce pilots) CofG ended.

on the conrod like other (except Saito) four stroke gas engine?

The revs with a JM 17X8 is about 7600 with factory setting on the carburator,

will maybe be a little better after full break in and tuning of the carburator.

My OS GF30 and a APC 17X8 is about 1000 revs more.

26/07/2018 08:37:43

About ten starts with the NGH GF30 in my Spacewalker and yet no problem.

Seems to be a good engine but not as strong as my OS GF30

but the NGH GF30 Provides the most horsepower for the money.cool

Kit built Acro Wot with Laser 70, epoxy glass fuselage covering and Oracover on flying surfaces. Carbon canopy laminated from homemade plug and mould. Weighs 6lbs, Hitec servos and Futaba. Test flown yesterday - 2 clicks of right aileron. Flies beautifully.6229220c-9a66-4a6d-b263-9c2e86ba6d1a.jpeg

@Max50
Home again after 7 flights on the field.
The engine is running well and the engine idle better afterwards.
I measured the sound in a circle with two meters distance to the plane and
App Sound Meter showed 83 dB. The engine is quite quiet, I think.
The noice is like a regular 2 stroke glo with quiet silencer, or a little less.
18/09/2017 15:49:31

I bought a Quiet Silencer JENQ57 but I have some problem with the C/G so

I use a lighter silencer from an old ASP 53A2.

I don´t think it is loud at all but maybe I don´t hear so well after all basstrombone playing (my hobby nr.1 ).

Next time on the field I will use a app in my phone, Sound Meter, so I can tell the dB.

Thank you!

@Denis
Thank you for your advice.
I'll check the carb.
Running in:
I started with 10x6 to unload, then 11X6 and after that 12X6 which was too much.
11X7 seemed good but I will switch to 11X6.
Hope for good weather for the weekend.

Since I needed my ASP FS-52 for my next project,
Seagul, DUAL ACE, I needed a new engine for
My Wot 4 Mk3 and my choice became the NGH GT9 Pro
that I bought from JE.
I like the engine, it's easy to start and
I've made 6 flights without any problems.
But I have a problem with idling where the trottel
is half open and the rpm is rather high but
below 3000 and not stable.
I am using Mobil 1 Racing 2T oil and Aspen 4. Mix 1:20.
Speed with the APC 11X7 is 9000 rpm.
Would you like to receive tips / advice on how to
handle idle setting.

Thread: Ngh 30cc fs petrol

Language = SWEnglish,
Ngh GF30 in my Seagull Spacewalker 120.
Because the NGH GF30 is longer and more heavy than an FS120, I moved back the firewall 20mm.
The batteries ended up behind the servo and the servo to the elevator I placed under the elevator.
Finally, I added 50 grams of lead under the elevator to get the center of gravity right.
Photo after the maiden yesterday.
