Thread: Taft 1250mm wingspan B25 prop replacement
17/04/2017 18:40:01

Hi. A very good friend gave me a Taft B25 1250mm wingspan, uses a 3 cell pack. I had a moment and have broken a propeller, these are nice looking and good for the job, contra rotating. Does anyone have a pair or know where I can order from, so far I have drawn a blank?

Thread: Whizzza Nigel Hawes free plan canopy
17/04/2017 18:36:07

Just looked through an old 2006 or 7 RCME at Nigel Hawes Whizza. I have tried the telephone Vortex 01162 207080 for a conopy. Does anyone know if Vortex has gone and has anyone a canopy for this free plan? I have had a few years out but have been back for year or so, but like the look of this one. Has anyone built one? Cheers SM

Thanks for this, I will change one of the props and turn the same motor the other way. Many of the EPO foam models do this as standard on the multistage and of course you have highlighted the reason why. Thanks again, Stuart

Hi Robert, it just occurred to me that I hadn't noticed through the posts if you have the motorsports rotating? Perhaps you could e lighten me, I am currently renovating a Mosquitto and the motors are both running the same way. Best regards Stuart

Absolutely, so pleased you have got on with it. Too much of you gone into this to dispatch to the loft. I can't wait to see your next flights

01/03/2017 20:06:05

Hi Robert, Looks like you have some rebuilding to do. Over the years I have found getting straight to it means it gets done. It would be a shame to direct this project to the loft, we all know how this ends up. Anyway best of luck, it would be good to see you get her back in the air. Best regards Stuart

Happy New Year to you to and hope you're soon back to the flying field. I await your coming flight trials, the Wellington flew from our flying field at Warboys and so my interest. One came down in our village wiping out many soles, I made a large plaque to commemorate the sad losses when I had my Pottery business. On a brighter note get well soon and inspire me to build my own. Best regards.

Will do. A great friend has leaned me 4000 30c 4 cell pack to try as well, so will post the results once tested. Thanks l

Thank you for this I am thinking along the same lines as a 3 cell pack 4000mah will probably weigh little more than the 2500mm 4 cell packs I have and this will not affect the c of G to much. I tested this morning as I said and with a 3 cell 3200 pack with storage charge of 3.9volts per cell I used a apce 13x6.5 and had readings of 350watts, 34amps but volts down to 9.9v. the battery I am using is a nearly new Dynamic 30c 96a rating but I am not convinced of the quality of these cells. As many comments as possible please as this is a great way for me in making progress.

many thanks, I will test tomorrow or at latest Friday and post results. On cell again many thanks

I will try 3 cells tomorrow with a 13by7 as I have this in stock, although my 3 cell pack is 2700 but it is new condition. Thank you so much, I expect I will end up hanging everything but want to get it right if I do.

14/12/2016 15:02:49

Thank you for this. It has also been suggested that a 3 cell pack of say 3300 upto 4000 at 30C would probably swing a larger prop and be more efficient for the 920KV motor, would others comment before I go down this route, I believe I need larger cell capacity and c rating as my tests this morning read on a 11x7apce 475watts at 36amps but the voltage dropped to 12volts quickly, all help much appreciated. Best regards, all.

Many thanks, I look forward to that

I have acquired 65 inch span Decathlon Bellanca Axi 2826/10 with Ripmax Dragon 60 amp sec and 4 cell lipo 2500math 25c. The model has a 11/7apce and flies ok but appears a little revy. My watts metre tells me 380watts and showing 34 amps flat out and I am getting about 4 minutes leaving each cell about 3.75 per cell. Has anyone out there have one of these models are has experience of an ideal setup. I do expect to try larger capacity cells but this will bring g the c of g forward. Help please.

The Acrowot has now flown and with the recommended c of g is beautifully stable and true whilst having a snap roll to die for. I will post all the gear set up once I have also experimented with different props and watt metre.

Thread: DB Excellence electric conversion

Sometimes the whole point is missed. Too often model flyers overpower aircraft and take no account of drag and other issues. The Excellence properly powered is wonderfully aerobatic and a joy to fly at high or low speed. Thank you for your post, you make the point so well.
