Thread: Hangar 9 Carbon Cub (petrol )
01/05/2017 10:16:27

hi all

for anyone that has built/assembled the Hangar 9 Carbon Cub that I reviewed last year if you have used the Stock tank that is in the kit and are running the Evolution 15GT engine please check the fuel tank and carburettor it appears the tank Bung supplied with the kit is not suitable for petrol the one in my old Cub has disintegrated in the fuel and was slowly but surely filling the carburettor up with gunk.

That's a fair oversight given that the model was marketed as a petrol model !!!!!

Thread: Thyroid problems
26/04/2013 11:58:19

hi BBC

i have hypo-thyroid it can be a sole destroying illness and from the outset it looks like there's nothing wrong with you. mine came to light from a sudden gain in weight that was not related to the amount i eat. i look like I've been a salad dodger all my life BUT i'm not a huge eater and i ear relatively healthily but the hypothyroid is the root of the problem. there is lots of information availiable on the internet about the problem i would if i were you spend a little time researching. the majority of the research is done in the USA and they seem to have a better handle on the illness that the NHS who will look for the cheapest option for treatment and tend to treat the illness and NOT the patient. my advice is keep on it and be a pain to the Dr it seems to take a fair bit of pressure to get them to move on everything.

I have even been to see the endochronologist he was reasonable but none will take the bull by the horns and they all seem to steer away from expensive treatments some of which are better than the generic treatment given by the NHS

The Seagull video must be one of the worst promotional videos of all time - a sweet looking little racer (one of Seagulls new models for 2013) but, well, you don't need me to tell you how bad the vid is and planting the model in the trees at the end had me nearly falling off the chair in disbelief!

Really makes you want to get straight out and buy one does'nt it teeth 2

Hi guys

As far as I'm aware Nigel no longer kits these models so it would be down to you to get a plan and cut one yourself. I'm pretty sure the Wizza was 2005 if I remember correctly

hi All

i just found this online and thought i ought to share as its the first I've heard of this!!

Xoar Announcement Regarding to JXF/Xoar Brand

Dear Customers,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support to Xoar

For past 6 months, we have been getting inquiries about the difference between JXF and Xoar. I would like to clarify this to all of you:

  1. Xoar and JXF are two brands owned by our company.
  2. Xoar products are marketed and sold in international market, except China. JXF is only designed for China market only. Any JXF product leakage into International market is unofficial and strictly prohibited.
  3. Two different brands offer different quality level. Xoar as our premium grade products are produced under higher QC process. Specifically speaking, material selection (density, cosmetics, water content level), geometry tolerance in production, 5 step balancing processes, final checkup on rejection. JXF line of products is produced in less effort due to China market needs.
  4. Besides quality level, Xoar offers full range airfoils for different application while JXF brand is only focused on a few entry-level series.

Warnings:

  1. Xoar International will cut off supply to China domestic company who knowingly re-export JXF brand into none-China market and legal consequence will follows.
  2. Xoar will work with its authorized distributor/dealers to stop the un-authorized JXF brand sell in other than China market.
  3. All JXF products outside of China have no product warranty.
  4. We have spotted a few counterfeiters in the market, in PJA, PJG, PJD, PJN airfoil replica under counterfeited “JXF” brand name. Legal action will be taken against such wrongdoing.

Xoar will continue investing in propelling solution to give our customer the best product possible. I would like to ask your help us to catch and stop any un-authorized, illegal product leakage and counterfeiter. Let’s jointly preserve honesty!

Xoar product is sold only under its authorized distributor; please contact info@xoarintl.com for distributor/dealer recommendation.

Sincerely,

Steve....In what planes?....How many servos?

Thanks Andrew

hi Andrew

3 of my models have Eneloop 2 have 4 cell and one a 5cell packe all three models have at least 4 servos each one funfighter a 60 sized model and one 90 sized model, although that said the 90 is a Seagull Navion which has 7 standard servos three of which are digital two metal geared and one cheapy standard on the throttle. the 60 sized model is an Sbach with digitals all round and is powered by an Eflite Power 60 electric on 6 s lipo. On average i would possibly get 4 flights on each in a session.

incidentally i would'nt even consider flying anything larger on AA cells and all of my bigger models are sporting sub c receiver packs right up to a 50cc petrol model. my general rule of thumb is if its 120 classed or above then its sub C's or decent li-po with a regulator/u-bec

ive been using Eneloop and Overlanders equivilant for a while now with absolutely no ill effects

isn't it amazing the electric bashers always seem to take advantage

Nasa I'm an electric basher, I took BEB's comment in the spirit it was intended - as a joke!

i think you have misread my intent whenever Electric flight is mentioned there is always someone who will jump all over it with derogatory comments about viability to how only anoraks fly electric etc etc i call these people electric bashers not the people who fly electric models.......... AND yes i do realise it was a joke i'm not that retarded..... just stating that there is always someone who insists on remarking about electric flight.... th irony being the flightline at any event these days has more and more ELECTRIC models on it as people realise you don't need to be an eccentric anorak to fly electric models

I'm also surprised at the number of people who claim that they do not watch television - but then go on to say they caught it on iPlayer or 4OD. Join the 21st century guys. Even the BBC now refer to "Visual and Audio" rather than "TV and Radio", reflecting the different ways people consume content.

And BEB, you would have missed out on the recent Spitfire programme with John Sergeant and the Cambridge professor re-building Barnes Wallace's bouncing bomb.

the expression cutting ones nose off to spite ones face springs to mind here..........Granted there is a lot of rubbish on TV but then there is some very good viewing as well you cannot use "home & away or Neighbours" as a comparison you need to get past those two

isn't it amazing the electric bashers always seem to take advantage and get their orange boxes out for gawds sake drag yourselves out of the 20th century you never know you may like it.........you guys kill me I'd kinda thought if your gonna bash you'd at least learn to spell what your bashing  i think you'll find its batteries lol
