Thread: Converted IC models for the slope.

Well chuffed to report that the Spifire conversion has won me two accolades this season. First off it was voted best flown model at the August PSSA meet down on the Lleyn. Now check out this bad boy - won best scale glider at the 2016 Lleyn Bring -n-Fly.

I reckon the installed sound system helped It does fly very well actually - needs a decent blow, but nonetheless a definate success.win_20160925_19_33_58_pro.jpg

Day Tent at Next Meeting :-

Helen's taking and setting up a day tent so the ladies don't have to sit in the wind all day.

Features:- Table to sit around, fresh water, milk, gas stove and kettle. Size is 14 foot in diameter and 8 foot high.

So just bring a chair, mug and tea bag to enjoy, similar to this **LINK** .

Well it was your suggestion to have an Indian in the first place Mark - but if you guys want to stick with the Premier Inn microwave specials...... that's fine with me.

Happy to fit in with whatever the masses want.

Only one of the restaurants have got back to me and have said that they can accomodate us, but as its a Saturday night they can either do a "set meal" or we can order off the menu but there may be a delay in getting everything out. I initially said we are likely to be 15 - 20 in numbers.

Ive asked for a copy of the set meal, and it appears they are suggesting 5 x one type of main dish, 5 x another, 5 x another and 5 x another IYSWIM together with 20 sides, and 10 rice in two styles IE: Pilau, Plain etc.

Im not sure how this would work in practice, if for instance one of the selected 5 x dishes was say....Korma, yet 6 people wanted Korma and so on.

May be best to simply say we are all going to just order off the main menu when we arrive and have a bit of delay ?

ATM only 9 people have confirmed they are eating with us anyway.

Thoughts please.

Last pssa meet of the year is fast approaching and the group meal idea seemed to work quite well. Sat 8th October. This time we are thinking an Indian restaurant - theres a couple in Llandudno that should be ok for space in October so can I have an idea of attendance please. No need for pre-order of dishes but I need likely numbrs. Ta.

If you order 4 mains Bob, Time Mackie will eat 3 of them - he has previous for it.

Mr Garstone - I have asked the restaurant for a separate table for one. It will be outside very near to the gangplank on the marina.... it will have your name on it so you should find it easily.

Yes indeed..... a great mass build effort with some excellent looking finished models!

You've raised the bar yet again Mr Cooke....truly beautiful workmanship.

Not the booming wind forecast of earlier in the week, but I reckon it will still suit most of the lighter stuff - including scooters.

Looking forward to our penultimate meeting of 2016 yes

An ever changing forecast currently shows lowish windspeed during the early afternoon, increasing toward late afternoon evening. With this in mind, I have changed the meal time to 8:30pm which should give us a chance to enjoy the evening conditions. Its getting dark by 8PM now anyway, but this should extend our flying by half an hour at least. Its approx 20 mins to the dinner venue from the slope, and Im planning to go straight there - again - to maximise flying time. T

Bob - youre way too late mate...... started this thread over a week ago, with a deadline of Sunday ( see post above last but one ). Ive already told the venue that there may be a couple of additions to the table plan, but Im afraid its a bit of a gamble as to what food may be available.

I think youll be fine especially as you have chosen 4 mains - should be at least one of those avaiilable LOL.

See you Saturday mate yes

MULBERRY RESTAURANT DIRECTIONS.

Heres a link to google maps MULBERRY.

Basic driving directions for the technically challenged are as follows wink

After exiting the Orme's "Marine Drive" stay on Abbey Rd, then second left and at roundabout turn right to join A546 Bryniau Rd towards Deganwy and Conwy.

At Llandudno Junction, take 3rd right at the large roundabout, head over the bridge into Conwy town ( castle on your left ) keep straight, onto Rosehill St, through the archway, onto A547 towards Bangor.

Just before the railway bridge ( approx 1/2 ml ), turn right onto Morfa Drive, pass the school on your right, go over the bridge crossing the A55 expressway onto "Ellis Way" and turn right following signs for the pub.

Table booked in my name. There is an overflow car park close by if needed. See you there for 8pm seated.
