Thread: The Gov't, CAA, BMFA & UAV legislation thread
So, I'm a lone country member flying in a neighbour's field. If I take a friend to watch and he asks to have a go, does he have to have passed the online test and paid the £9 ?
Thread: How can I upload my RCC
I've just passed the BMFA Registration Competency Certificate online and printed out the actual certificate, but I seem to have missed how to upload it into my membership profile. Can anyone help please or direct me to the instructions? Thank you!
Thread: Caption competition!
Jump in the back when I get the engine started - then I'll send it up and down the runway - that'll fool them!
Thread: Mentor v Funcub
The Tundra does look good but it is not available in the UK or EU warehouses and the uncertainty of customs and the p&p puts me off. I'll contact Hobbyking and find out if this is just a temporary state. Thanks again all.
Thanks for your replies chaps, especially to Speedstar for your videos. Obviously a bit more to it than I thought - perhaps I'll fit the flaps to the Mentor initially. My flying field can get a bit rough and length restricted as well depending on the nearby livestock - for that reason alone the short take offs and landings would be useful.
Hi all, I have had a Multiplex Mentor for some years and am quite happy, albeit a little bored with it. I have never seen a Funcub in the flesh, as it were, but it tempts me very much. Is it worth me buying one for the fun of it or could I convert the Mentor to be pretty similar. Is it just a question of oversize wheels and flaps or something else more subtle, that makes the Funcub apparently so popular? I am a lone flier, clubs being many many miles away, so no hope of getting a side by side comparison.
Thread: RC Life website down
Does anyone know anything about RC Life, their website seems to be down at the moment although I'm sure I was browsing it a couple of days ago?
Thread: Christmas Caption Competition!
Some couldn't remember the Hokey Cokey sequence exactly....
Wheel Spin Models according to google Chris
Thread: Robins Pathological Basis of Disease
Hate to be so pedantic Erfolg but I do believe it's Disease not Decease; however one does often lead to the other
Sadly I am too far away to benefit from your generous offer!
Thread: New year caption competition!
Looks like some fool has tried to land his fixed wing on the helipad.
The new Club RC Buggy has been quite successful at retrieving models from the outfield!
Thread: Ballasting model
Adrian, I've sent you a PM
Thread: E-Glider new design called RedEagle
After you have read that Michael, click on FORUM at the top of this page, scroll down to THE SITE PLATFORM and then click on 'Forum User Guides' - all should be revealed!
Look here Michael LINK
Here's a couple of pics of my snakes emerging from the fuselage as you requested. I guess if you are not using snakes then its a different ballgame. Hope this gives you some ideas. As you can see, my Red Eagle is not red!
Thanks for the update Glyn. Regarding your problem with your push rods, it would be ok to resite the horn at a slight angle so that it better meets the pushrod.
As far as the wind goes, I have flown my Red Eagle on a flat field in 10mph winds and it hasn't been too much of a handful. On the other hand you need a calm day for your maiden so best to wait till you are completely ready - Good Luck!
So what happened next Glyn, I was following your progress and then went on holiday for a couple of weeks. Now I am back and wondered how the maiden went?
Thread: Ideas for new polls
I would be interested to know how many people build models from the magazine's free plans. I would suggest a poll listing say, the last 12 free plans and tick which ones you have built.
