Thread: Disappointing Long Marston Show
05/06/2016 19:31:55

Well I was going to drive the 1 1/2 hours to the show today, but woke early this morning with a particularly dodgy tum!, so decided not to. Sounds very much like I didn't miss a lot. Good to hear that the show has got a reprieve for next year, but if this years content (by the reports) is anything to go by, will next year be any better?

Thread: Caption me!
01/06/2016 09:09:12

The man in the shop told me, if I wanted to be a "gliderist", I needed to bite down very hard on this and the urge would go away, but it doesn't seem to be working. sad

Thread: Cheap fireproof box for LiPos
23/05/2016 07:59:10

If you're using a metal box to store lipos, it might be a good idea to put the the lipos in a plastic container INSIDE the metal box, or cover the inside of the metal box with foam or plastic to prevent the batteries from shorting against the metal surface.

It's very unlikely that they would short out, but it does give that extra piece of mind.

Thread: LARGE SCALE "electric" Hawker Tempest with BENDINI SOUND SYSTEM
13/05/2016 16:30:23

Excellent flying and sound. I think I'm right in saying this is being flown and was built by the very talented John Ranson. I think I'm also right in saying he built a very nice Hornet, again with the sound system, a few years ago.

One more time - MotoGP is shown on ITV4. OK, not live but it is free.

Which is why I said LIVE! (One more time)

Instead of F1., have a look at MOTO GP. it's the motorbike equivalent to F1. Far more exciting in my view. 👍

And still only available live on pay TV (BT Sport) angry

Thread: Maplins rotary tool (Dremel clone)
21/03/2016 11:05:29

For those interested in a new rotary tool I've just seen this in the latest Maplins email advert. Looks pretty good value as you get an accessory kit as well. I have a Dremel 300 and put side by side you'd be hard pushed to tell them apart.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/170w-variable-speed-rotary-tool-with-lcd-and-219-piece-accessory-set-n17qn?cmpid=email:weeklyemail:22032016:N17QN&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=17P01-03

I've just noticed that the deal also includes a 'pen grip" flexi-shaft as well. Even better value yes

Signed. Ex ATC 1113 Squadron. Flew gliders at 613 Squadron RAF Halton in the late 60's early 70's.

Incidentally the link to the petition doesn't appear on my iPad. Had to use my PC.

Switching to a new tab or window can be much more useful when you need to go back and forth between the two, for instance copying stuff from one to the other.
