Thread: Ideas for articles in RCM&E
How 'green' is our hobby.
With the current 'anti plastics' movement (Reducing plastic bags, recycling plastic cups etc ) how long will it be before plastic foam is banned.
Thread: Sign of the times - funnies
All good Nigel, the last one had me in stitches.
Thread: Off to RCHotel
Wish I could go there my self. Been some years ago had a great time.
Thread: gap filling glue
Save balsa dust when sanding, then use it to fill gaps together with a drop of CA. Can also be used to form fillets.
As mentioned above ,avoid the fumes as much as possible.
Thread: Ideas for articles in RCM&E
How about some articles from the ladies point of view, Some do actually build and fly models whilst some just 'put up' with us boys and our toys.
We have seen some input on this forum, lets have more.
Thread: Goodbye Farewell
Blair - to prison
Thread: Converted IC models for the slope.
A few years back, a man arrived on my nearest slope with a high wing glow powered trainer. After removing the prop and U/C he demonstrated slope soaring to his small son, then did a super landing and off they went home.
Just shows , almost anything can be flown from a slope, so why do I manage to break my models? (and my ankle on one occasion)

Thread: Sitting down whilst flying - what do you use?
The normal basic folding chair , from camping supplies should be OK for most flying but perhaps not for longer flights with thermal assisted gliders.
Thread: DuBro valve spout
Something like the 'fuel tite ' was standard kit for diesel engine fliers way back and was known as a 'valve spout 'bottle then.
The only thing needed with model in the days of diesel powered free flight.
Many older modelers will have remember them .

Thread: Sourcing steel spar
Silver steel should be available from most good engineering / tool supplies shops.
Thread: Cruiser, November 2015 Free Pull out plan
Cruiser plan Free in November 2015 RCM&E.
Decided to fly a 'hangar queen' that hadn't been flown for a couple of years.
Engine started OK took off nicely but not responding to controls as well as on previous flights, then the engine cut managed to land in the rough,
Adjusted the engine, checked the control all going the correct way, took off again, not flying well so managed to land on the strip an carried the model back to the car (200 yards up hill). Thinking what could be wrong, maybe the rx has got a bit damp in the garage, never mind I have a couple of spares as I have converted most models to 2.4 ghz. but not this one !
Carried the model back to the strip extended the Tx antenna and flew nicely.
Thread: Autogyro Get togethers
I was at a caravan site in Henley for two weeks in April and when there I always go to the Reading club site to watch and chat. guess what day I had to pack-up and head for home !
Sorry to have missed it but great photos.

Thread: Thread sizes
I never 'bin' anything so why is it that when II want 4 of any thing (screws, nuts etc ) I can only find 3?
The biggest market for Japanese engines is the USA an I get the impression that UNF (American) is the preferred system. There are still lots of us Brits who do not 'understand' metric and the Americans probably more so.
I remember that the odd BA thread sizes were only rarely used.

Thread: Plan printing
Lots of copy shops should be able to print to 'off the roll' sizes.
My nearest copy shop is in Cleckheaton W Yorks.
If you say where you are someone near you may be able to help.
Thread: Sonny 1500 glider
Oldgit - it isn't free flight. It has two channels of R/C so it should be possible to land back in the same field the flight started. (I have been known to have to climb over the wall into the next field on occasions )
Thread: Did I Really Do That?
The looks are less important than meeting the performance requirements. You pays your money ............
Thread: competitive wife went one better
I did the same for SWMBO's 60th as a surprise. I half expected her to chicken out but she went ahead and really enjoyed it.
Thread: Warning to all trad builders
