Thread: I am a Crasher
02/06/2010 08:00:08
That's a good point David. There are several time I have turned up to the patch or indoor hall and decided that my state of mind was not conducive to safe aviation and chosen not to fly. I just sit, chat and watch others trying to learn from what they are doing. This is normally because I am feeling tired and my brain  is just operating too slowly to keep up with flying a model.
I have also found that If I have had a drink, even a single glass of wine, my ability to crash is much enhanced. I think this is due to me being less inhibited and willing to try things that either I can't do or are physically impossible.

Yes just cut it to the length you need.

Does the collet go fully home on the motor shaft or does it jam up before the shafted goes fully in? If it jams up the collet is the wrong size for the shaft.

Phil, I did a lot of crashing while practicing for my 'B'. But sopped now. All I would ay is try to learn a lesson from each crash you have and do not repeat the same crash. Soon you will run out of ways to crash

Thread: Model Glasses breakage
26/05/2010 16:05:03
A big THANK YOU to John at Rapid Eyeware (Model Glasses). I broke my glasses again, all my own work this time. However he was happy to provide me a new set of frames at a very reasonable discount from the cost of a new set of glasses
Great service
Thread: Battery for EDF
26/05/2010 15:51:46
A club member did have a problem with using 3s battery on an ESC specifying 4-6s. The problem was that the ESC saw the 3s pack as a flat 4s so the LVC cut in and backed off the speed and thus he never got full power from the motors. This was on a big 4 engined model and nearly ended in disaster.
Thread: 2 cell LIPO saved from 1v!

How many charge discharge cycles have you been through since this incident? I would be interested to know how much longer it will last.
I suggest you keep a very close eye on it when you charge it from now on.

Thread: Digital Issues

Much easier to use but the quality does not appear to be as good as the old one. The text is not as sharp and the pictures have some distortion on hard diagonal lines. Still very usable though and a great resource.
Thread: Music to video
25/05/2010 12:11:42
I am with Kevin. Leave the sound track alone. At least 50% of those watching will not like your choice of music and some such as me would prefer none.
Alternatively do what pleases you, those watching can always either turn the sound off or stop watching.
If I am not careful I will be having a good old argument with myself here.

I think you are early. They will be published in the BMFA news soon. I have never been able to find them on the web site but they are probably there somewhere at some time.
