Good job I'm still waiting to get back out with mine, any time off work seems to coincide with naff weather!.

I roughly based mine on the Dornier Wal.

Yes that's what I used as reference among other types I need to find some figures and make some dummy guns.

I found the plan quickly, need to buy some wood, when the shop opens. Have a spare OS10FP engine and servos, rx, battery so just need hardware.

Well I finally got to the flying field but it was a tad windy so all I really managed was a bumpy circuit hopefully some calmer days lay ahead

That's a cracking colour scheme Dave, it really shows off Stan's design skills a treat. Make sure to more more bands on the wing though wink

Thanks yes it is an enforced scheme as my dad gave me the solartex it seemed silly not to use it. I only put a couple of bands on for the pic I need to get some more, hopefully I'll bump into you up on the moor if she survives long enough smiley.

I've just finished covering my first slope glider I just need to install the servos and linkages and shes ready to heave off the nearest hill.

Shes a PMP Mk2 Stage2a covered in solartex it will be a slope trainer for me so fingers crossed.

Right oh! The next project on the board is this, I am looking to try some slope flying and a quick chat with Stan at PMP and I have a kit for a Stage 2a Mk2.

All looks good in the box I've only built one full kit before which was my RES glider that is mainly carbon/balsa the Stage 2 is a more traditional build so I'll have a read of the instructions and peruse the plan and hopefully make a start this weekend.

A Google search reveals a few adverts on e-bay etc and a reference to it being a smaller version of the FlyBoy. There is a Fly Boy plan on Outerzone. I have often wondered why planes are named with Boy at the end - HiBoy, Lowboy etc - must be some connection I suppose.

Yes I saw on the box it is a small version of the Flyboy

The tail is all ¼" sheet and supplied pretty hard that will be replaced with built up items. Also alot of weight in the wings with bell cranks pulleys etc. which will be replaced with a couple of servos and a few other nips and tucks will shed some excess, from what I've seen it's probably a mid 70s model.

I have been given this kit it looks complete does anyone know it have any info I'll do an electric conversion when I get round to building it.

You didn't really need to go on ebay for the plan, you can get it free here - Link

Do they print it and send it free?

15/11/2019 19:38:10

I like the stakes on the fuselage I might rob that idea laugh

15/11/2019 18:09:11

A couple of chaps at my club have built these as a bit of fun and use Cox engines, I have decided to join in but go electric I have the wood needed and most of the electronics all I needed was the plan which I found on ebay amongst others in RCM&E back issues.

So Tally Ho! I'm in first job was to transfer the fuselage sides to grease proof paper and use a pin to transfer those lines to the balsa. I have also cut the formers ready for glueing up with the sides in the morning, two of the formers are laminated so I'm waiting for them to dry.

Ok thanks I'll double check not that I'm ready to order yet just checking prices etc.

13/11/2019 20:50:32

I have just done a dummy order for the remainder of the timber at balsa cabin it comes to just over £70 does that sound about right?

Hi David,

I've chosen the Spirit 78 scheme, but please feel welcome to join me with another one so that we can make a team. It's only a colour scheme - no one has ownership of any one in particular, and as Phil (I think) said on another thread, it's good to see multiple examples of one scheme as it gives a sense of cameraderie.

That's very good of you Steve I will go for a different number .

12/11/2019 13:07:16

Thanks chaps I think I'll be happier when I can get the wood pack ordered hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'm still waiting for an email from the chaps that make them up.

12/11/2019 06:55:00

I see that's taken too I think I'm out of this one folks my enthusiasm is waining a little and I already have builds waiting to go a couple more months would have been handy but i see most here are well on their way.
