Lovely Fury, quite well timed to coincide with the planned mass build.

The pilot of this one has helped me  and a lot of other club members a great deal over the last 20 or so years.

Nice one Bob.

CIF oven cleaner, the one in the green trigger type bottle. No smell no burning fingers. The plastic modellers use this to strip paint off of their models.

I had great success stripping a 1/6 scale tank of Tamiya acrylic paint with it.

Beth Thankyou. A very posh cap and some stickers arrived today.

I have discovered that it is perfect for keeping the rain off !

A great surprise, Thankyou all.

I trust that it will improve my flying !

I heard last night that their marine modelling title had gone, didn't realise it was the whole company. Great shame.

In the video clip above, is it my imagination or is Buzz Aldrin doing his best 'I can be the next Doctor' face ?

Thread: DB Sport and Scale 'Old Bill'
12/07/2017 12:52:55

Thankyou both,

It is instead of a Magnatilla ( I would have had to 'British' it this time anyway) as I've been waiting a long time for an ordered kit.

I've ordered the Old Bill direct from DB, it is due today or tomorrow, with ribs and template sheet, they are on special offer at the moment.

12/07/2017 08:35:36

as per my description, the Old Bill is going to be my first electric build. Not my first build by a long way, but the first electric .

I know it's an old plan so . . . . Anyone done one ? Any tips greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance .

I introduced RTP flying to 2 different ATC Squadrons some 16 years ago.

Great fun, though one squadron was interested in the aerodynamics of it all, the other just wanted to be the crash-combat masters !

High peak models seem to have a direct line to the new owner of Flair products, though I have given up after a 15 week wait for a Magnatilla.

Perhaps a call to him will get you one.

Apologies , same search on inter web shows Axminster tools are doing the alloy ones .

09/07/2017 10:32:28

eBay search for ' NT dresser tool' will find you a Japanese made Sandvic type of tool. Nice alloy handle. I've bought the small angular type and a 25mm x 150mm version. Same cutting type plate in a nicer holder.

Two tiger moths and another moth type, followed by a spamcan, have just floated over Midsomer Norton.

Not yet Vintage, I've been on holiday for a week or so, I'm expecting an email/phone call/delivery next week. I do know that high peak are awaiting 15 kits, I think there was a holdup on the boxes.

Bought one recently from eBay, around £12 I think.

Bound to my DX8 very quickly and seems fine, though I must admit I've not flown it yet. Worked perfectly in a scale boat and is now at home in my 1/6 Challenger 2 tank. ( cost more than any plane I've ever owned by a factor of 10, but safely on the ground.)

Jeff, High Peak models seem to be the best bet.

As my previous, I'm awaiting delivery of a Magnatilla, plus wheels. Someone by the name of Justin is making Flair kits again and distributing wheels/alloy cowls etc etc etc .

I ordered a Magnatilla kit through High Peak Models a couple of months ago, with a 10 week lead time. I'm told they will come with a 'bespoke' serial number now.

Also available are the wheels, decals etc.

As soon as mine arrives I'm putting in an order for a Brisfit.
