Yes some very good people there, also many not so good. Andy Knunz is a Spektrum engineer who is one of the helpful ones

Thank you Steven. That is a very useful link to add to my armoury.

Steven Shaw - very interesting posts on RC Groups. Thanks for the lead.

They've answered this question over on the RC Groups forum

Thanks Steven. I am just about to check out the posts on RC Groups.

All points noted Denis. Thank you. I have tried binding both ways and cannot discern any difference!

I checked the throttle Safe setting and it is working OK. So throttle is ON and OFF, only as arranged.

Thanks again for the thoughts.

Hi again everyone. I have added comments and answers to each of you posts that I had not previously answered.

It never ceases to amaze me (although I do not post very often and then, usually with a problem) how the experience of others starts to flow and invariably helps find a solution.

Many thanks for your timed help.

You have it Steve J

Data is also channel 1

If that's the case Gents, how do you connect to transmit data?

Peter, Is your AR620 labeled like this?

Hi Steve.
Yes, that is exactly as per mine.

Peter could it be that the Battery port has no signal connection on the PCB - just -ve and +ve, and the ESC of course needs signal connection too?

I suppose it could be Graham. All ports have three pins. I haven't checked further.

Check channel order AETR? Of the Rx, Is it the same as the Tx or Something else

Aileron, Elevator, Throttle, Rudder

Hi Denis.
Back on the case! Channel order of the Rx is ; Battery: 1= Servo port/DATA ; 2 = Aileron: 3 = Elev
4 = Rudder: 5 = ?: 6 = Flaps

02/02/2019 19:19:55

Thanks everyone. Results as follows;
Denis - I can confirm that the throttle showed as moving normally and responding to 'throttle hold', as normal.
Daniel - I have it in the port next to the Data port - the one shown in the User Guide as Battery port.
flyeruk - Ureka! Plugged it into the Data Port and it appears to work perfectly! Why? Why? Why? I have to say that I'm never happy doing things like that, going against manufacturers instruction. If the two of us have had the same problem, there must be others. I wonder if Horizon are aware?
Thanks again.

Thank you Dan and Colin,
I have tried that Dan, no effect I'm sorry to say.
I do have plane selected Colin. I always do with my gliders as the are they are electric powered for flat-field soaring.
Thanks for the suggestions though - I'm willing to try anything.
It's not doing my impression of the AR620 much good!

02/02/2019 16:09:24

Grateful for any observations.
I installed an AR620 Rx in a glider. The Rx binds to my DX8, with no obvious problem. With all channels hooked up, all surface controls work correctly but the throttle function will not operate! I have tried another Rx in line and throttle responds correctly!
Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone else had the same problem?

Thread: FlyFly DG-1000 set up
27/01/2019 10:25:23

Thank you Piers.
The more threads I read and the more pilots I talk to, the louder the message that it's at it's best as a slope soarer! I also realise how much of Lincolnshire is flat!
And then you point me in the direction of the 2 videos, one in flat Holland - there's hope for me yet!
I will certainly keep you posted as to the eventual outcome.

Thread: DG 1000 trouble

Thanks Ian,
Unusually, for a thread on here, when there was no response within 12 hours, I wondered if I had done the wisest move attaching my query to an old thread?! So I reposted, tonight as a new thread and have had several responses so far. I shall give it another go, trying to choose the best advice then checking and double checking everything before attempting to commit aviation!
I shall bear your words of caution in mind.
Cheers,
PC

Thread: FlyFly DG-1000 set up

Thank you Peter. All grist to the mill. I've started a file of comments and advice. I'm going to take my time and get as accurately set up as I can, before trying it!

Just to clarify - mine does not have an all-flying tail. It's just a strip elevator.

26/01/2019 15:28:09

Thank you Simon it's helpful to have a recommended start point. I have to say that, although I have flown a number of different RC electric gliders, I've never before had any that tip-stalled in such a frightening and fatal way as the DG1000

I have to admit to being more than a little nervous about the maiden of the re-build!

26/01/2019 15:12:46

Massive tip stall

Hi Everyone,
I had exactly the same happen to my Fly-Fly DG-1000, last year. The damage to the fuselage was so great that I had to get a new one! I have just finished the re-build and it's sitting on the bench waiting to be set up. What movements did you find best, on aileron, elevator and rudder? I can't find recommended throws anywhere! Also, would you expect to use Expo and if so, how much?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
Peter

Thread: ST Models MX2

Thanks folks. The u/c is now modified and awaiting trials. That made the wind speed increase to 'totally unreasonabel' !!
It will be a few weeks now before I am able to do any more flying so, keep up the good work of MX2 development and testing.
Cheers,
Peter
