Thread: Beginners woes

I wouldn't want to join a club that didn't welcome new members who don't fly solo yet.
A club like that is detremental to our hobby and tells you something about the people in it.

Thread: Does your club allow lone pilots?

God bless Timbo, I'm with you on this one.

My club allows solo flying as long as you have passed the club proficiency exam.

I can't stand jobsworths trying to wrap the country in cotton wool, for gods sake, leave us sensible people alone. If something happens, then we alone are responsible for it and will face whatever music is going to play.

Thread: Best bang for buck model.

Well my WOT 4 cost me £40 over 15 years ago and flies every year.

I also have a EasyStar clone called a Wild Hawk, that cost less than £40 including upgrading it to 125w brushless. It's a bit tatty but provides plenty of cheap entertainment.

Thread: What to buy?
06/11/2009 14:35:11
Well Christmas has started to creep over the horizon and I've been offered £110 to buy a plane.

I would love a Multiplex Blizzard but seems quite pricey @ circa £200 for the full setup (Plane, Power set, Servo's, etc).

I'm thinking of getting something around that kind of size but with unlimted vertical performance, hotliner, warmliner, etc.

Then again I get distracted by the Parkzone Corsair or Trojan, looks like fun........ah! there you go, I've got side-tracked again.

What should I go for? Suggestions please!

Currently in the Hanger:
WOT4
Hanger 9 Funtana X100 (70")
Extra 500 profile foamy
Wild Hawk (brushless 4ch modified)
Multiplex Mentor
Hanger 9 Pulse 60
FlyFly Aermachhi MB-339 (54" span 90mm EDF)

confused....
