Thread: Ni-MH Charging - Help Please!!!
01/01/2009 21:25:00

Fusion Elysium LX60B Charger
8.4v Ni-Mh Battery 1000mAh (7x2/3A)
Wild Hawk Plane - 380 Motor (EasyStar copy : )

Battery lasts for 5 minutes and I don't think I'm charging the battery correctly.

Well Santa, eBay and the local model shop gave me lots of goodies this Christmas and with it a few questions.

For 15 years I have flown Nitro planes and have started to have a dabble in the electric world and need some help with my new "Fusion Elysium LX60B" charger (£80) and a new battery pack.

The charger asks me "C=?" basically what the 'charge current' is for the battery that I am connecting.
Do I put 3.0A? (C=3.0A) as at the moment on this setting the battery charges in 4-5 minutes and only lasts 2-4 mintues in the air on a 380 motor, 2 mini servo's and a Spektrum AR5000 receiver.
Surely I should be getting 10-20 minutes?

Can someone help me out please?

God knows how I did it Kevin, it was way kinda stupid.

Triple check that you have the right blades on (upper & lower are different)

I once managed (god knows how) to put uppers on the lower and visa versa.

This resulted in a VERY wild flight. It's easy to miss.

Thread: Buying a Spektrum DX7
04/12/2008 11:49:00

Just as an update and maybe some closure to this thread...

I purchased my DX7 set (TX,RX,Servos, battery, etc) from Penn Models (West Midlands) as I like to support my local model shops. Cost me £239

I'm very happy with it and look forward to Summer 2009

Thanks to everyone who took the time out to post a reply above

Oh, and I went with Mode2 in the end. Looks like it's both Heli's and Planes for me in the future.

Thanks for posting the video Chris.

I just sent you an email regarding the video, hadn't realised you had already posted it here.

It really was a fantastic weekend, the whole family had a great time.
Looking forward to next year, hoping the F-16 has a successful flight this time though.

Thanks again, enjoy the video.

Inwoods price sounds good, just checked their website but don't see ANY Spektrum sets listed (weird!).
They have some on the front page, but nothing in the online shop (JR/Spektrum section).

The mid November Yorkshire show sounds good but would cost me when travelling from the West Midlands, so cancelling out the savings.

I wonder if this means the DX7 will drop in price?

Thanks everyone for the comments so far, Timbo's comment regarding the firmware is handy to know

Well I have saved up my pennies and I can finally afford to fork out £239.99 on a new Spektrum DX7.

So what's the problem you may ask? What are you waiting for?

Well I do have a few questions and would welcome any helpful comments from you.

 1) Why can the DX7 not be altered between Mode1 and Mode2 (throttle stick config).
This is usually just a spring and ratchet to be moved.

2) Should I go Mode1 or Mode2 (I can fly both but have mode1 on my old plane radio and mode2 on my heli)

3) Any other comments, hints or tips when buying this radio?

 Thanks everyone

A great plane. I still got mine from when I learned to fly.

I can personally recommend this trainer to anyone, they are very sturdy and very forgiving.

Thank goodness, that's a great idea.
I'm sick of eBay.

I fly my 17 year old Wot4 more than any other model.

Perhaps I should get a new one?
