If the worst comes to the worst as Percy speculates, I recon that there will be enough unbuilt kits in lofts around the country to keep the hobby going for another twenty years.

Hanley, Stoke on Trent, near me. Traders and Council have successfully negotiated and obtained planning permission for a magnificent new multi-million shopping centre in the main part of town.

Work was just about to start, trouble is the venture was backed and guaranteed by Marks and Spencer. M&S has now backed out, result, bye, bye new shopping centre.

A lot of HK knocking here.

The fact is, I know lots of people who buy from Hobby King and they seem happy with the products.

Richard Shuttleworth was of the Clayton and Shuttleworth company producers of steam tractors and steam road vehicles, some of which can be seen in the museum.

During WW1, Clayton and Shuttleworth built aircraft under licence to the Sopwith company. and a few years ago the museum built a complete new Sopwith Triplane from plans last used by the company during WW1

Great place by the way, well worth a visit and plenty of non aeroplane attractions for the significant other.

Isn't it an invasion of privacy showing some ones number plate on a public forum. I say this in all seriousness, eg the TV block of car numbers on news items. smiley

The trouble with Spitfires is that to 99.9% of the great unwashed the Spitfire was the only prop driven fighter that existed.

Even German pilots would not admit too being shot down by a Hurricane.

As stated earlier in this thread, I flew mine all winter, hand launched on three cells, never had a spot of trouble. Tried it on 4 cell but the extra weight meant there was little difference in performance. Still going fine.

If my memory serves me right, the body I referred to was dropped into the lake but dropped on a ledge at half depth. This ledge had been created for construction traffic to enter and exit the lake area before flooding.

Then again I could be wrong and it could all be a figment of my imagination.
